Texans signed DE DeMarcus Walker, formerly of the Broncos.

Walker was the 51st overall pick in the 2017 draft and has 8.5 sacks over the last two seasons on very limited snaps. It's a nice signing at this stage of the offseason, as Walker (6'4/280) should compete with newcomers Shaq Lawson, Derek Rivers, and Jordan Jenkins for playing time off the edge where Houston is looking to replace J.J. Watt.

Auclair, 28 next month, appeared in 40 games for the Bucs across his four years in Tampa Bay. He was targeted just 14 times across those contests, totaling 10-84 with no touchdowns. Auclair will compete for a job in a no-name Houston tight end group.

Free agent WR/KR/RB Cordarrelle Patterson is visiting the Falcons.

A sort of Swiss Army knife, Patterson played mostly running back in Chicago last season based on the needs of the team, but he's not really a threat on offense. His main contributions come on special teams as a returner. 30-year-old Patterson has led the NFL in kick return yards the past two seasons and has eight career kickoff return scores. The two sides are expected to come to a deal.

Lewis, 27 tomorrow, played heavy snaps across five games for the Giants last season, starting three contests and seeing action on 271 snaps. He'll be looking for his seventh team since 2019.

Steelers re-signed ILB Vince Williams.

Williams was released in a cap move to clear $4 million last month, but he's coming back despite getting some interest outside of Pittsburgh. 31-year-old Williams has spent his entire eight-year career with the Steelers and played 65% of the defensive snaps last season as a thumper inside.

Browns re-signed TE Stephen Carlson to a one-year contract.

Carlson was an exclusive rights free agent, so this was his only option. The 24-year-old has appeared in 25 games over the last two seasons to begin his career, catching six balls for 62 yards and a touchdown in that span. He's the No. 4 tight end behind Austin Hooper, David Njoku, and Harrison Bryant.

Day, 27 in July, inked a one-year deal with the Colts last offseason following a successful 2019 for the NFC champion 49ers. But Day appeared in four games due to injuries and was cut in November. He ended the year on the Browns' practice squad. Day will compete for a depth job.

Bucs re-signed NT Steve McLendon to a one-year contract.

35-year-old McLendon was acquired from the Jets last season and has been soaking up 350-500 snaps at the nose tackle spot for years. He and DC Todd Bowles go back to their time together with the Jets. McLendon has 153 career appearances as an immovable inside presence.

Steelers re-signed QB Josh Dobbs to a one-year contract.

The 2017 fourth-rounder has never started an NFL game, attempting a grand total of 17 passes, throwing a pick and no scores on those. Dobbs will compete with Mason Rudolph and Dwayne Haskins for jobs behind Ben Roehtlisberger. The Steelers could even add a rookie.

Browns signed DL Jadeveon Clowney, formerly of the Titans, to a one-year contract worth up to $10 million.

Clowney will join his fourth team in four years after a 2020 season in which he didn't record a sack in eight games. He missed half the season with a knee injury -- a rarity for the usual-durable veteran. In Cleveland, Clowney, 28, stands to benefit from the attention opposing offenses will give to blocking Myles Garrett. The Browns in 2020 had the 12th lowest sack rate in the NFL, averaging 2.2 sacks per game (16th).

A Pittsburgh attorney said he'll file assault charges against Aaron Donald after an alleged altercation in Pittsburgh.

Attorney Todd Hollis on Wednesday provided a picture of a man, DeVincent Spriggs, with a severely swollen eye and cuts on his face, and said Donald had assaulted the man in the wee hours of April 11. Spriggs alleges he was assaulted by Donald after accidentally bumping into him, and suffered a concussion, broken arm, and 16 stitches near his eye. The 2020 defensive player of the year has not yet responded to the allegations. The NFL will certainly track the situation.

Bengals TE C.J. Uzomah said he's been fully cleared from the Achilles tendon injury he suffered in October.

Uzomah, 28, looks to be ready for the Bengals' offseason program six months after tearing his Achilles. He looked to be a reliable streaming option in 2020, drawing 11 targets in a game and a half in Cincy's pass-heavy attack. Drew Sample took Uzomah's place as the team's starter and had one of the most inefficient fantasy seasons in recent memory. Assuming he's back to full health, Uzomah should have some fantasy relevance in 2021 even if he's the third or fourth option in the Bengals' passing offense.
