Playing out of the fifth-to-last threesome, World No. 97 Brian Harman fashioned a 5-under-par 33-34=67 in the third round of The American Express for a 54-hole total of 13-under 203, up five spots to T5, two shy of tri-leaders Max Homa (65), Si Woo Kim (67) and Tony Finau (67).
The 34-year-old is chasing his third TOUR victory in 271 events, first since the 2017 Wells Fargo at Eagle Point GC 99 starts ago, where he came from two back (T4) with 4-under 68 to win by one. This is his third time this season in 10 starts that he's been in the top 10 after 54 holes, including T3 at the Shriners, but neither of the previous two resulted in a top-10 finish. The Georgia alum's most recent top 10 is a back-door T3 at the last season's Greenbrier 28 starts ago (65-66-70-65). On 11 (of 14) fairways and 14 greens in regulation, his lone hiccup was double bogey-6 at hole 9 (watered tee ball), camouflaged by seven circles at holes 2-5, 8, 10 and 11, three from between 10 and 17 feet. Harman will play out of the penultimate threesome on Sunday with Richy Werenski and Russell Knox. He kicked off with 68-68 (NT-SC).

Past champ Rory McIlroy is the pre-tournament betting favorite as he readies for the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
McIlroy left the API off his schedule early in his career but has made an effort to show up every year since making his debut in 2015 (T11). "I first played this event back in 2015, which I probably should have played it sooner, but I just never was able to get the chance to or have the chance to. So I said in 2015, when I first played, that I'll try to never miss it again, so I've kept my word, up until this point, I'm back again." One of his fondest tournament memories came in 2018 when he arrived on the heels of a T59 and MC in his lead-up starts. Everything clicked into place for him that week at Bay Hill (+4.6 SG Approach and +10 SG Putting) en route to winning the event. On top of that victory, he also has three of finishes of T6 or better at Bay Hill. How does he feel about his game this week? "Still trying to iron out a couple of things that I feel like I can do better. But I saw some positive signs last week, so, and always coming back to a course where you've had some good memories and that always helps too when you sort of feel a little bit better about yourself."

Keith Mitchell has missed the cut in three straight starts but looks to rebound this week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Mitchell is on the record for loving bermudagrass greens so he'll be happy to get back to the Southeast after a trio of missed cuts out West. Unfortunately, the putter was not his only problem out West. He's lost a combined 8.2 strokes tee-to-green over those three starts (just four measured rounds). Working in his favor this week will be course history. Mitchell has made two prior appearances at Bay Hill and walked away with top 10s in both of them (T6/2019; T5/2020). His lack of recent form makes him a risky option for gamers but he might be worth a look as a salary saver for gamers that want to lean heavily on course history this week.

Lucas Glover is slumping with the irons but will look to get back on track this week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Glover is known as one of the steadiest iron players on TOUR so it's odd to see him hit fewer greens per round, compared to the field, in three straight events. The last time he did that was in the fall of 2019 and he responded with a stellar GIR week at the 2020 Shriners to finish in ninth place on the final leaderboard. Could a similar rebound be in store this week at Bay Hill? Historically, he is 8-for-11 at the API with a T11 (2009), T7 (2017), and T10 (2019) being the highlights. His run of five straight starts without a top-35 finish will likely land him on a low percentage of DFS rosters this week.

Dylan Frittelli Headshot
Dylan Frittelli has a strong showing in his 2020 Arnold Palmer Invitational tournament debut and he returns this week for another crack at Bay Hill Club & Lodge.
The South African twirled rounds of 71-72-74-75=292 (+4) during his 2020 API debut. He left the course on Sunday having gained 4.6 strokes tee-to-green for the week and another stroke in the putting department. More recently, he's stumbled with missed cuts in three of his last four starts and a 53rd-place finish in the other. His season is still well on track thanks to a T11 at the ZOZO and a T5 at the Masters, during the fall schedule. The Texas Longhorn product remains a relatively steady weekly fantasy option with cuts made in 46-of-71 PGA TOUR events played.

Billy Horschel collected a podium finish last week and looks to keep his foot on the gas as he hops over to Orlando for this week's Arnold Palmer Invitational.
The Florida Gator tossed together a 15-under 273 week at The Concession Golf Club to post a T2 finish, the best of his WGC career. It was his second straight event gaining more than four strokes off-the-tee and he also gained 5.6 strokes putting, happy to be back on bermudagrass putting surfaces. "I think over the last month we have been hitting on some really good things in my swing that's allowed me to be a little bit more consistent, get back to the ball-striking numbers that I've had earlier in my career. So it was just nice to finally see really good ball striking for four straight days last week at Concession." Horschel consider this somewhat of a home game but it hasn't produced any high-end finishes for him yet. He is steady with an 8-for-8 record at the API but none of those doubled as a top 10 and only two were finishes inside of the top 35. Weekly gamers should give him a look if they need a steady option to round out their squad.

Tyrrell Hatton picked up an iconic red cardigan for his victory at last year's Arnold Palmer Invitational and he'll look to add another one to his wardrobe as he readies for this week's edition at Bay Hill Club & Lodge.
The Englishman won the battle with Mother Nature last year as players had to deal with windy conditions all week at the 2020 API. That was especially true over the weekend where scoring was historically brutal for the course. Hatton opened his week with rounds of 68-69  to grab a share of the 36-hole lead then held on with weekend rounds of 73-74 to separate from the field, which goes to show how brutal the conditions were on Saturday and Sunday. Hatton is not expecting such difficult scoring this week, "Obviously we have had a lot of rain last night. It will be interesting to see how the course is going to play from tomorrow. I haven't really seen what the forecast is like, but if it's not too windy, the course is obviously going to play quite a bit softer now. I imagine scoring will be fairly low. I think it's normally been, what was it, around mid-teens anyway as a winning score." Hatton arrives six straight top 25s, worldwide, including a win at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.

Rickie Fowler has dipped to 65th in the Official World Golf Ranking but hopes to build on recent momentum as he readies for this week's Arnold Palmer Invitational.
Fowler was ranked inside of the top 10 in OWGR as recent as May 2019 but he's dipped quite a bit since then as he goes through a prolonged slump. "Unfortunately, this one's been a little longer than I would like it to have been, but, yeah, we're grinding through it. A lot of it I would say is more just on the mental side now, just getting back and playing as much as possible to just get the reps in. It's a matter of time. We'll just keep kicking the darn door and she'll fall." Working in his favor is a T20 in his most recent start, The Genesis Invitational. That snapped a streak of 12 straight events where he finished outside of the top 20. His lack of steady play makes him a volatile fantasy option but he still brings winning upside to the table. His record at Bay Hill includes eight cuts made in nine appearances with four of them doubling as top 20s including a T3 during the 2013 edition.

Local resident Charles Howell III hopes to snap out of his recent mini-slump as he preps for this week's Arnold Palmer Invitational.
CH3 enters the week with three straight missed cuts on his form log. That was following a stretch of five straight top 50s dating back to the Shriners last fall. Will a home game kick him back into gear? "Well this is one of my favorite events. Partly because, yeah, I live here, but it's a little, it hits a little more at home, both of our kids were born right here in Orlando and at the Winnie Palmer Hospital and obviously Arnold Palmer Children's is right next door." Over the years, he is 17-for-20 at the API with eight of them doubling as top 25s. His recent play makes him a risky weekly option but his love of the event and steady course history makes him an appealing sleeper to consider.

Henrik Stenson is dealing with some sore ribs but hopes to be good to go ahead of this week's Arnold Palmer Invitational.
The Swede has been dormant since his appearance in three European Tour events in the Middle East. He finished T46-MC-MC in those three events. That is well below his usual output on the Desert Swing. Perhaps a return to Orlando will kick him back into gear. This has been a hometown event for him over the years and he's piled up seven top 20s in 12 API appearances. It's usually a good slumpbuster when needed, but he did miss the cut last year. On top of his poor form, he'll also need to overcome some nagging injuries, "Other than a little plunge in the ski slopes like two and a half weeks ago, we got some sore ribs still, so maybe not a hundred percent, but it seems to be working hitting golf shots and practicing, so, yeah, fingers crossed that's not going to be a problem." Gamers should weigh his course history with recent form and injury concerns when making their final roster decisions.
