Top Value Plays Using Pts per Dollar

Every week, we look at value plays on Rosters.com.  We want to teach you things you can use to identify these value plays. Last week, we looked at points per dollar and the week before, we examined the Vegas line. This week, we will look at everything, but use points allowed by position in the Rosters.com scoring system to identify some great plays.

Here are some value plays in week 15 on Rosters.com:

Latavius Murray – RB – Oakland Raiders at San Diego Chargers (allows 25.6 pts per game to RBs) ($9800)

With the mid-season decision by Del Rio to employ a running back by committee, many fantasy owners were scared off by Latavius Murray.  He now has amassed 13 touchdowns and is one of the more consistent performers over the last three weeks with 16.4, 25.6, 16.3 Rosters.com points in the last three weeks.  He has seven touchdowns in the last five games plus added 12 catches which in this scoring system helps.  He is projected to score close to 15 points this week and can be owned still inexpensively at $9800.

Carlos Hyde – RB – 49ers at Falcons (allows 24.4 pts per game to RBs)  ($11400)

Hyde is now consistently getting between 15 and 20 touches per game.  Last week versus the Jets cannot be dismissed, but needs to be discounted.  We do not expect that he will have four rushes greater than 20 yards each and 193 yards on the ground.  What we do expect is more action in the passing game.  Although he has only two games with more than five targets, those passes come when play action is employed.  He is a ton better with Colin Kaepernick under center so expect that pistol to beat up on the Falcons.  He is projected for 15 points and has scored 18, 10.3 and 26.5 in the last three games.

Tyreek Hill – WR/KR – Chiefs vs Titans (allows 41.8 pts per game to WRs) ($9600)

The Titans are dead last versus WRs.  This year, they have allowed almost 3,800 yards passing against them and 320 completions.  They have allowed 22 passing TDs while only allowing six rushing TDs.  Hill has been nothing short of a late season break out and his three touchdown game four weeks ago started to get him noticed.  In the last three weeks, he has turned 22 targets into great production and this is a tasty matchup for him.  He is projected for 16 points this week but it is the super high ceiling that makes him so valuable especially in tournaments.

Taylor Gabriel – WR – Falcons vs 49ers (allows 37.8 pts per game to WRs) ($8000)

The 49ers have been everyone’s whipping post.  Am sure they are thankful that the Browns and Jets exist.  The 49ers pounded it on the ground last week to shorten the game and they will try to do that this week as well.  It will be tempting for the Falcons to do the same as the 49ers are equally as bad versus the run.  However, Gabriel has been involved in that rushing game as well and is always a threat.  He has four TDs in the last four games.  Expect the success to continue.

Ladarius Green – TE – Steelers at Bengals (allows 15.4 pts per game to TEs) ($5700)

This is based on the price and the potential upside.  The Bengals are fifth worst versus the tight end and Ladarius Green is starting to work big plays down the middle of the field.  He has had four plays of more than 20 yards in the last three games and expect at least one this week.  He has had 20 targets in those three games with 192 yards and one trip to paydirt.
