Athletics vs. Yankees Prediction

There’s no way the Yankees can lose to the A’s in back-to-back days, right? Asking for a friend, because I don’t think there’s any way that’s happening. So, let’s investigate attacking Oakland in the betting markets to start off our MLB predictions today.

The first wager will be on the run line as it’s the only way to get decent odds. It’s justified too as the Yankees are 6-4 at home on the young season already and the Athletics are 10-12 against the spread overall. I also like Marcus Stroman on the mound tonight to give an edge, as on home turf, he has allowed just 4 earned runs across 11 innings and has 13 strikeouts to go along with that.

The offense should pop today too after being shutout yesterday; the numbers should correct themselves as they score 4.35 runs per game. Now for the player prop side of things, and there are many to choose from, but one that I like most focuses on Juan Soto

He is really hitting righties well as usual with a .316 average and 31 total bases on 57 at bats. His line is just at 1.5 for hits+runs+RBIs today and he could do that just with hits. Overall, he has gone over this number in 7 of 10 home games this season, so let’s lock it in!

Marlins vs. Braves Prediction

Back to attacking the teams that are very underwhelming here. It's time to pick on the Marlins who have been dreadful this season, but at least they are starting to score some more runs! With 12 in their last 5 games, I know what you’re thinking: that’s still very low. But it's better than it has been, and if they can score 3 runs tonight, the over may be a lock.

The number sits at a friendly 8.5 right now and considering that the Marlins pitching is getting beat up and Max Fried is going for the Braves, you can start to see why the over is the play. Fried is just not good right now with a 7.71 ERA, so there’s wiggle room there.

On the other side, you have the Braves offense who is averaging 5.7 runs per game at home this season. That’s the 5th most in the MLB and a team that can hit any kind of pitching. This total is no doubt in my mind one of my favorite MLB best bets today!

Let’s add a prop here though as Marcell Ozuna is crushing lefties and will go against Trevor Rogers tonight. The big slugger is hitting .345 against the southpaws this season with 17 total bases in 29 at bats and has been on a roll overall going over 1.5 hits+runs+RBIs in 5 of the last 7 games. There will be some juice tonight on him, but I will eat it to make the wager.

Astros vs. Cubs Prediction

Last game to pick through for today’s MLB predictions and I am looking at another over! The pitchers in this matchup are just bad and prime to target between J.P. France and his 7.08 ERA and Jordan Wicks and his 5.29 ERA.

Looking closer too at France, he is really struggling to get strikeouts with just 16 in 20.1 innings of work so far. The Cubs strikeout around the middle of the pack, so no help will be coming there. The Chicago offense is also posting 6.2 runs per game at home this season, the most in the MLB, so (gulp) France is in trouble!

On the other end of the matchup is Hicks against the Astros lineup that is hitting lefties well overall. Kyle Tucker, Yordan Alvarez, Jeremy Pena and Yainer Diaz are all hitting over .300 in those matchups this season. It’s been a disappointing start for Houston and the offense but to me, they are a ticking time bomb.

In addition to the total, give me the Cubs to go after France in the hits category as he’s allowed 6 or more hits in 3 of 4 starts already this season. Right now, his line is 5.5, so let’s hammer that over.
