It was a great weekend for the Fantasy Alarm team, with Jeff Mans and Ted Schuster making a huge impact in the FanDuel Playboy Baseball Championship, placing in 3rd for $30,000. The Orioles gave us a crazy sweat at the end, but I don’t think you can ever complain when you win $30,000.

We are back in action tonight though with a nice 10-game slate. Even better, we are still away from Coors, which definitely increases the level of skill involved for any of your tournaments.

Weather remains a bit of an issue tonight. There could be rain affecting the Mets/Pirates and Blue Jays/Tigers games. None of the early forecasts look like it should lead to a postponement, but nevertheless, you’re going to want to keep an eye on it.

Victor Martinez is having a monster of a season where he has put up a .401 wOBA, 155 wRC+, and .201 ISO. At $3100 on FanDuel, he continues to be a bargain considering what he has consistently been able to do at the plate.

Matt Wieters should be back behind the plate tonight after getting the day off on Sunday against the Yankees. He has been a model of consistency over the last few weeks, batting .370/.386/.574 with two home runs over his last 15 games.

Bryan Holaday, believe it or not, has gone 12-for-33 (.363 AVG) with two homers, a triple, five doubles, and nine RBIs over his last 10 games. At $2300, he is definitely your best bet as a DK punt play.

Tyler Flowers is back in his spot as our minimum priced king. When I play a punt play, I want some upside, but that rarely happens at that kind of a price point. Flowers is a power bat who has the ability to take the ball out of the park (don’t forget he hit 15 home runs just two years ago). He’ll be my main FD punt play.

Mike Napoli is another name you probably should start looking at regardless of the matchup. He is in the zone right now and most people don’t even know it. He has gone 10-for-36 (.278 AVG) with six home runs, a double, five walks, 11 runs, and 12 RBIs over his last 10 games.

Paul Goldschmidt is just so damn cheap right now that you’re going to want to consider him regardless of the matchup. I mean, really, $3400 on FanDuel? Nevertheless, I still like his matchup against Chris Archer who has really struggled with his command, and has given up a ton of homers this season. His 1.63 HR/9 would be, by far, the worst of his career.

Wil Myers is batting .433/.419/.867 with three home runs over his last seven games. Myers is at his worst when he is striking out left and right. The odds are against that happening tonight against Williams Perez of the Braves, who has a 5.8% Swinging Strike Rate. I like his value on Aces the best.

Tommy Joseph will likely get another start as the Phillies face the southpaw Jon Lester of the Cubs. What’s not to like about a kid batting 7-for-16 (.438 AVG) with a homer and a double over his last four games, and priced at just $2200 on FanDuel?

Robinson Cano is batting .319/.379/.667 with a .436 wOBA against right-handed pitching in 2016. While Trevor Bauer has had a solid season so far, he is still giving up a lot of fly balls, and a high 35.3% Hard Hit Rate.

Neil Walker was clearly working on his right-handed hitting in the offseason, because he is having his best season ever against southpaws. I think it’s a difference maker tonight against Jon Niese, who he has struggled against in their previous meetings. Amazingly, Walker has a 41.7% Hard Hit Rate and a .464 wOBA against southpaws this season, and will no longer be subbed because of his inability to hit from the right-side of the plate. Definitely view him as more of a GPP play.

Steve Pearce hasn’t been homering lately, so he has kind of dropped off the radar a bit. Still, he you really should be considering him tonight, especially with his matchup against Robbie Ray. Pearce is batting .390/.468/.829 with five home runs in just 41 at-bats against lefties this season.

Jurickson Profar is going to continue to remain in the Rangers lineup as long as he his able to produce. In his nine games this season, he has hits in each of those games, while going 16-for-41 (.390 AVG) with two homers, two doubles, and 10 runs scored.

Evan Longoria is the hottest player in baseball. He has a 9-game hitting streak where he has gone 16-for-36 (.444 AVG) at the plate, but most importantly, he has homered in four consecutive games, and even went DOUBLE DONG on Sunday. Plus, the matchup tonight against Robbie Ray cannot be any better.

Jung-Ho Kang has not been as hot as Longo, but I don’t think you’re going to be upset with someone who has gone 6-for-16 (.375 AVG) with two homers, three doubles, and four RBIs over his last four games.  Plus, $3300 on DK is basically stealing.

Jose Ramirez has quietly, and I mean, QUIETLY been dominating in recent weeks, batting .360/.458/.580 with two homers and three stolen bases over his last 15 games. I love his matchup against James Paxton who looked horrible against the Padres last week.

Jake Lamb has four homers in his last 10 games. Love his price point against Chris Archer, and I love how hesitant people tend to be when it comes to playing guys against Archer.

Carlos Correa has been a great value on DraftKings over the last week or so, but his price is back to where it should be. That will help keep ownership rates low as you take advantage of his crazy run over the last couple weeks, where he has gone 13-for-30 (.433 AVG) with a home run, three triples, a double, and 11 RBIs over his last eight games. Oh, and don’t forget the fact that he has a .588 wOBA with two home runs throughout his career against Colby Lewis.

Corey Seager, guys. Like what the hell is going on here? After a very blah April, and a better May, he has absolutely been destroying the ball in June, going 7-for-18 (.389 AVG) with five homers, all of which have come off of TRIPLE DONG and DOUBLE DONG performances.

Alcides Escobar’s price has dropped to a very affordable $2700 on FanDuel and is never a bad play given his ability to accumulate points in a number of ways.

Javier Baez may begin to get starts against lefties with Addison Russell struggling hard against southpaws this season. Baez is batting .435/.500/.739 with a couple homers in just 23 at-bats.

Nelson Cruz is 5-for-7 (.714 AVG), lifetime, against Trevor Bauer of the Indians, with a home run, double, and three RBIs. He has home runs in three of his last four games, and is obviously swinging a hot bat.

Mark Trumbo leads Major League Baseball in home runs with 18 bombs this season. He faces Danny Duffy of the Royals who is giving up a Fly Ball Rate of 45.5% this season. While I’m impressed by his 9.82 K/rate; historically, that’s not going to last.

Trayce Thompson is a little too expensive to roster on FanDuel (unless it’s a stab at a GPP), but he is a very reasonable $3100 on DraftKings. Thompson is going to get a better look with Yasiel Puig going on the DL, and all he has been doing is producing. Over his last five starts, he has gone 5-for-13 (.385 AVG) with two homers, two doubles, five walks, five runs, two RBIs, and three stolen bases.

Carlos Gonzalez has EIGHT home runs over his last 10 games, and gets a great matchup tonight against Mike Bollinger, who he has a career .554 wOBA against with a home run.

Matt Kemp has been solid, going 13-for-44 (.295 AVG) with four homers, a double, and nine RBIs over his last nine games. He is also the one Padre on the roster that has taken Williams Perez deep in their previous meetings.

Lorenzo Cain may have had a rough first few games in June, but don’t forget his outstanding May where he batted .357/.387/.577 with six of his eight home runs. He gets a very good matchup tonight against Mike Wright of the O’s, who he has homered off of twice in six career at-bats.

Jon Jay is another player that comes from the boring but productive mold. Over his last 10 games, he has gone 18-for-45 (.400 AVG) with six doubles, 10 runs, and three RBIs. He’s a very safe play for cash games if you’re looking for a player with a high floor.

Nomar Mazara just continues to produce at the plate. Over his last 15 games, he has batted .298/.349/.579 with five home runs in 57 at-bats. He is at a reasonable price throughout the industry, and gets a decent matchup against Mike Fiers

Cameron Maybin is now getting starts in the #2 hole, batting in front of Miguel Cabrera. He has a 6-game hitting streak where he has gone 9-for-24 (.375 AVG) with a double, three walks, five runs, and two RBIs.

Jorge Soler went 2-for-2 with a homer in his previous meeting with Adam Morgan of the Phillies. Over the last couple seasons, Soler’s bat heated up as the weather got warmer. A nice 80 degree night in Philadelphia may be just what the doctor ordered for Jorge, who has always been knocked for his inability to adapt to colder temperatures.

Justin Upton has sucked the life out of everyone who has been playing him this season, but has happened to show some signs of life over the last week, and is very affordably priced. He has hits in each of his last three games and faces J.A. Happ, who he has gone 3-for-5 (.600 AVG) with a homer and a triple against in their previous meetings. It also doesn’t hurt that he’s priced like he’s a benchwarmer.

Jeff Francoeur is always a sneaky little punt play against southpaws. He is batting .359/.408/.500 with a .387 wOBA this season against left-handed pitching, and he matches up very well against Christian Friedrich of the Padres.
