PrizePicks Prop Selections:

1 & 2) device (NiP) and cadiaN (Heroic) - Over 37.5 Kills

These two Danish AWPers will face in the group B lower bracket semi-final of IEM Summer 2021, and both have a projected kill total of 37.5 on PrizePicks. NiP recently beat Heroic 2-1 on May 27th at Flashpoint 3 (10-16 Nuke / 22-19 Overpass / 16-8 NiP) and device led the way with 72 kills across three maps, for an average of 24 kills per map. On the other side, cadiaN managed 63 kills in three maps for an average of 21 kills per map. Now, I should note that Overpass did go to overtime which inflated their kill totals a bit, but it was a pretty competitive series, and another map going to overtime on Saturday is not out of the question either. Device has averaged just over 20.5 kills per map in the past three months with 868 kills in his past 42 maps played, while cadiaN has averaged nearly 19.5 kills per map with 1148 kills in 59 maps played in that time. Heroic are the favorites at (-190) odds, but we know that Ninjas in Pyjamas can keep things at least close since they just beat Heroic in a best-of-three last week, though LNZ is now in the lineup for NiP instead of ztr.

When analyzing a CS:GO match-up, people sometimes like to talk about the two AWPers on each team as if they are constantly taking aim battles against each other, but we know that is actually not what typically happens on the server, and the success of one AWPer does not necessarily come at the expense of the opposing AWPer. Thus, I am comfortable taking the over for both of these players.
