NASCAR DFS: Toyota 500 Track Breakdown
Matt Selz has the full track breakdown and Drivers To Watch for this week's race -- the Toyota 500 from Darlington Raceway.
After the much-anticipated return to the track that happened on Sunday here at Darlington, it’s time for the second race, also at Darlington. This one will be a bit different though from the first one as it happens at night, it’s shorter, and the starting spots were based on Sunday’s race.
So Sunday’s race was the Real Heroes 400 and this race is the Toyota 500 but Wednesday’s is actually shorter despite the larger number in race name because the 500 represents kilometers rather than the 400 being miles. Wednesday’s race is 227 laps in length over three stages and it starts at 7:30 pm ET. The night race is the traditional race spot for Darlington Raceway in the Southern 500 so a lot of the stats we look at in the track breakdown came from races run at night. Also, keep in mind who did what in the latter parts of Sunday’s race as the temp at the track at that point is similar to what will be the starting temp for Wednesday’s race.
