It’s here! After 35 points races and 38 weeks traveling around the country since starting in Daytona in mid-February, the Championship race is upon us this weekend! The Ford Ecoboost 400 is playing host to the Championship Four this weekend, as well as the other 36 drivers in the field, as we crown a champion for 2019 after 267 laps around the 1.5-mile track. This is the last year, for the foreseeable future, that the championship will be held in South Florida as it moves to Phoenix in 2020 and elsewhere beyond that.
This track is the most-symmetrical 1.5-mile track we’ll see all season as it’s a perfect oval and no curve in either straightaway. There are 18-20 degrees of banking in the corners, its variable depending on which groove you’re driving in and the tilt in the straightaways is at a pretty flat,four degrees.
