How’d you do in the DFS CBB Saturday main slate? Win or lose, it’s time to get back on the saddle and build your lineups for today’s evening slates! DraftKings and FanDuel each have an 8 pm ET slate with five games shared between the two sites and the Arizona-UCLA matchup as the late outlier on DK.

Tonight’s DFS College Basketball slate is an interesting mix of conference play with a few offensive-minded Pac-12 battles, an ACC defensive clash and an entertaining SEC nightcap.

Keep in mind with such a smaller player pool than usual on a shorter slate of games, nearly every team and game are in play. Don’t be afraid to stack teams more often than you normally would if the opportunity presents itself.

With a specific eye towards recent game trends, favorable and/or tough matchups, rotations and KenPom’s advanced stats, we’ll outline the guards and forwards to prioritize in your DFS CBB lineups today for both sites. We’ll also point out the games to generally target and fade today based on pace of play, spread and implied point totals as predicted by KenPom.

Games To Target:

  • Arizona State @ USC - 8 pm ET (USC -1 / 151 Implied Total)

  • Arizona @ UCLA - 10 pm ET (UCLA -1 / 143 Implied Total) - DK Only

Game To Fade:

  • Syracuse @ Virginia Tech - 8 pm ET (VT -7 / 135 Implied Total)

Guards

Jared Harper - AUB ($8,000 DK / $7,800 FD) & Bryce Brown - AUB ($6,500 DK / $6,700 FD) - The Auburn offense largely runs through Brown and Harper and with Mississippi State predicted to win by just one at home, both players should have the ball in their hands a ton in the second half with the game on the line. Harper has a slightly higher ceiling and floor because of his passing ability, but Brown is the Tigers’ leading scorer and is averaging 21 points and about 29 DK points per outing in conference play. The salary difference is significant between the two - but Brown is so pure scoring-dependent it’s tough to rely on him for cash games. Harper, meanwhile, owns one of the best assist rates in the country and is putting up 16.4 points and 30.5 DK points per game in SEC play. He’s the safer of the two but, of course, costs a decent amount more to fit in tonight. Both Harper and Brown are very attractive in all formats though with a pretty high floor and potential for a lot more.

Kevin Porter Jr. - USC ($5,500 DK / $5,000 FD) - If you like risks, this is your play! Porter has the talent and skills to be a first round NBA talent, but he’s struggled to see the floor for much of his freshman campaign. A quad injury forced him out for over a month earlier this season, then a suspension by head coach Andy Enfield cost him two more games in January. He returned to the court Thursday and put up 14 points, three rebounds and a block in 18 minutes off the bench vs. Arizona. Before his quad injury, though, Porter started for USC and routinely scored in double figures with a starter’s share of playing time. If Porter gets back to that level - or has a breakout game like he’s capable of - he can easily 4x or 5x his salary tonight.

Shane Gatling - COLO ($4,500 DK / $6,000 FD) - Gatling’s salary is noticeably more affordable on DK tonight, but his recent production still warrants consideration on both sites. The junior is coming off back-to-back games of 10 or more three-point attempts and seems to be still getting shot volume even with Colorado stud McKinley Wright back in the lineup. Gatling also returned to the starting rotation in these last two outings after getting moved to the bench earlier this month despite beginning the season as a starter. Gatling appears to have locked down the 2-guard spot as a deep-threat shooter to complement Wright’s driving and playmaking abilities. It’s honestly shocking how cheap Gatling is still on DK with how good he’s been for Colorado lately - so lock him in at this price while you still can.

Bryce Wills - STAN ($4,400 DK / $5,200 FD) - Wills has seen a big uptick in playing time and DFS value with Cormac Ryan (ankle) missing the last three games. The freshman Wills started all three of those and even saw 30+ minutes and 10 shot attempts in both of the last two games. Ryan is questionable for tonight but apparently still hasn’t practiced and looks more likely doubtful to dress - cementing Wills as a nice value play on both sites. The extended playing time obviously makes Wills more intriguing with Ryan out - but he still contributes in every stat category and brings a different energy to the Cardinal offense.

Other Guards to Consider:

  • Quinndary Weatherspoon - MSU ($7,900 DK / $7,600 FD)

  • Sedrick Barefield - UTAH ($6,800 DK / $7,000 FD)

  • Prince Ali - UCLA ($5,800 DK Only)

Forwards

Nick Rakocevic - USC ($9,100 DK / $8,500 FD) - Rakocevic has been such a dominant force for USC lately that he may still be a discount tonight despite being the salary king on both sites. The 6’11” junior is coming off back-to-back performances of at least 20 points, 12 rebounds and 45 DK points - yet his price is still under 10k and 9k on DraftKings and FanDuel, respectively. Arizona State just does not have the size to give Rakocevic much of a challenge in the paint. Plus, he averages more than 15 more DFS points at home than on the road (38.7 vs. 23.3 DK points) - making him a core cash and GPP play tonight. This Arizona State-USC game will be a fast-paced, high-scoring one and Rakocevic is the best way to get exposure to either offense despite the expensive price tag.

Kerry Blackshear - VT ($6,600 DK / $7,200 FD) - Although the Syracuse-Virginia Tech matchup is one we want to avoid generally, Blackshear is the outlier play we can target tonight. The ‘Cuse defensive zone notoriously opens up outside shooting for opponents, but it also allows for dominant rebounders to have their way on the offensive glass - a role Blackshear excels in. The 6’10” junior is Tech’s best offensive rebounder while Syracuse is in the bottom third in the country in defensive rebounding. Blackshear is coming off a monster performance vs. UNC with 19 points, 17 boards, five assists and a block for 50+ DK points. Plus, Blackshear could see more time than usual as the roaming zone breaker on offense, dishing out to the shooters and crashing the boards for easy put-backs - something he did with ease against North Carolina on Monday.

Josh Sharma - STAN ($5,300 DK / $6,500 FD) - Since conference play began, Sharma has been getting more and more playing time and his role on both ends of the floor has increased to a point where he’s a great value at this price point. The 7’0” senior center has started the last five games for Stanford and has seen his minutes increase in each Pac-12 game - maxing out at 34 minutes in Thursday’s loss to Utah. During that five-game span, Sharma’s DFS point totals have subsequently increased with each contest - averaging 26.75 DK points with 32 in that last game. The four-year player seems to have finally put it all together and should remain in the starting lineup tonight with the reasonable expectation for 25 fantasy points at least.

Ryan Luther - ARI ($4,700 DK Only) - Luther has smashed value the last two games in extended playing time with Chase Jeter (back) getting hurt. Jeter went down four minutes into last week’s win vs. Oregon State and Luther promptly filled in with 16 points and 11 rebounds with 12 shots in 30 minutes of action. Then, Luther got the start in Jeter’s stead vs. USC on Thursday and put up an 8-5-5 line with 12 shots in 31 minutes. His price only went up $200 on DK - becoming a nice value if Jeter misses again tonight. With this game being the late-night hammer on DraftKings, pay attention to the late news and be ready to pivot off Luther if Jeter does indeed suit up.
