More mid-week conference action on tap for tonight’s massive DFS CBB slates! DraftKings has 11 games to build from, while FanDuel adds on the USF-Cincinnati matchup to their 12-game slate. There are 10 ranked teams in action with the earliest games tipping off at 7 pm ET and the later few matchups beginning at 9 pm ET.

With so much talent in the player pool tonight, we definitely have some tough lineup decisions to make. You’ve got the explosive, high-priced guards who are always in play (Markus Howard and Carsen Edwards) and then a clear top-tier of seven or eight forwards who are nightly double-double threats. So who should you build your lineups around? We’ll break it all down!

As always, with a particular focus on KenPom’s advanced metrics and overall recent game trends, we’ll point out the teams to target as a whole before breaking down the guards and forwards to prioritize in your DFS lineups today. The point spreads and over/under’s below are based on KenPom’s predictions for that matchup.

If you have any questions or comments on the day’s slate or anything college basketball-related, feel free to hit me up on Twitter @dan_servodidio or in the Fantasy Alarm CBB chat room.

Guards

Markus Howard - MARQ ($9,900 DK / $8,800 FD) - Tonight, the decision to pay up at guard comes down to Howard vs. Purdue’s Carsen Edwards. Both are offensive studs and both are massive volume-shooters for their respective teams. Howard, though, gets the slight boost because he’s playing in a fast-paced, high-scoring Big East battle. Georgetown runs at the 15th-fastest tempo in the nation, while Marquette comes in at 92nd in the country. It’s a pace-up matchup for Marquette on the road - why not target the best player who takes 20 shots per game and has a real DFS ceiling of 50-60 points and a floor sitting around 35-40. The price tag seems expensive on DK - especially on this bigger slate - but he’s been worth it for much of this season as one of college basketball’s most electric players.

Tremont Waters - LSU ($7,800 DK / $7,600 FD) - Waters is a bit of a bargain tonight considering he’s performed like an 8k player or better lately. Over the last four games, LSU’s sophomore ball-handler is averaging 40.3 DK points with two-double digit assist games and even one outing with EIGHT steals. He’s playing a large share of the point guard minutes because of his distributor role and as one of LSU’s best on-ball defenders. Before that four-game outburst, though, Waters’ floor sat around 25 DK points - so the regression could be coming. Still, LSU will need Waters to be around the ball a ton tonight, offensively and defensively, in this road conference matchup with an implied total of 157 points.

Mac McClung - GTWN ($5,000 DK / $5,500 FD) - In his first game back from an ankle injury, McClung was an offensive spark plug yet again for Georgetown in Saturday’s win over Providence. The freshman was getting large shot volume before missing four games with a sprained ankle - and he picked up right where he left off, going 7-for-13 from the field with two made three-pointers. He scored in double-digits for the seventh straight game as his ankle didn’t seem to hamper him in his 27 minutes from the starting rotation in the double-overtime victory. Tonight’s matchup with Marquette should be a high-scoring, back-and-forth contest and McClung can easily 5x his salary if he’s launching double-digit shots once again.

Jordan Bowden - TENN ($4,900 DK / $6,000 FD) - Bowden may not start for Tennessee, but he provides instant offense off the bench - and he’s really caught fire lately in that sixth-man role. Over the Vols’ first three conference games, Bowden is shooting 56% from the field and averaging 19 points on 12 shots per outing. His fantasy scoring is a little shot-dependent, but the junior has put up 24 DK points in four straight nonetheless. Bowden began this season in the starting rotation but has really settled into his role as the first man off the bench who still plays large minutes with the starters. The price is more affordable on DraftKings, but he can return 5x value on both sites if his shot volume continues.

Braxton Beverly - NCST ($4,600 DK / $5,600 FD) - According to KenPom, North Carolina State is projected to score the most points of any team on the slate tonight, playing at the 9th-fastest tempo in the nation. The only issue with targeting the Wolfpack players for DFS is sheer depth they have with rotations of 9-10 players who see meaningful minutes. Yet, the one player who does get a normal starter’s workload of 30-35 minutes is Beverly - rotating between the point and shooting guard spots. The sophomore not only gets regular playing time, but he’s also been a very safe, consistent cash game play lately. Over the past seven games, Beverly has racked up 20+ DK points six times - including two 30 fantasy point performances.

Noah Locke - UF ($4,300 DK / $5,200 FD) - This Florida-Mississippi State game could be a low-scoring one, but Locke may be one of the few DFS plays we can target in this matchup. The freshman has cemented himself as a regular starter for the Gators with a large outside shooting volume. Locke has gone 24-for-55 (43.6%) from three-point land over the last six games - averaging nine shots from deep per game. The large majority of Locke’s shots come from three-point range as Florida’s clear-cut best shooter from deep. Look for Locke to record his seventh straight double-digit scoring effort and real potential to 5x or 6x his salary.

Other Guards to Consider:

Chaundee Brown - WAKE ($6,000 DK / $6,100 FD)

Blake Hinson - MISS ($5,200 DK / $5,800 FD)

Alex Hobbs - BSU ($4,600 DK / $5,500 FD)

RJ Nembhard - TCU ($3,900 DK / $4,600 FD)

Forwards

Jessie Govan - GTWN ($9,500 DK / $8,700 FD) - Since the start of Big East play, Govan has really feasted on the smaller, guard-heavy lineups he’s faced. The senior Govan should have his way once again tonight vs. Marquette’s trio of undersized forwards. Over the first four conference games, Govan is seeing a huge shot volume and is averaging 25 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.3 blocks and 40+ DK points per outing - including 64 DFS points last time out in a double-OT win vs. Providence. Tonight’s matchup with Marquette will be high-scoring once-again as both teams play at fast paces and like to rebound, get down the floor and put up shots. Govan will have plenty of opportunities for rebounds (and points) tonight as the game’s dominant big man in the paint.

Kouat Noi - TCU ($6,700 DK / $6,400 FD) - If you were paying attention to college basketball over the weekend, you probably saw Noi’s 30-point effort on Saturday and needed a double-take. Yep, Noi hit 8-of-12 three-pointers and gave DFS players a lineup-changing 39.25 points on DraftKings. Noi has yet to start a game this season but he regularly plays 20-30 minutes off the bench and sees crunch-time playing time more often than not because of his three-point threat. Over the last 10 games, Noi is taking around six three’s per game at a 43% clip - and if he catches fire like he did Saturday, the sophomore can easily return value. Because of the risk involved with banking on a bench player who relies on the three-pointer, Noi is more of a tournament play but a high-reward one still.

Shaq Carter - RUT ($4,000 DK / $4,900 FD) - A knee injury to Eugene Omoruyi has opened up playing time tonight (and for the near future, at least) at the forward positions for Rutgers. After coming off the bench for much of the season, Carter got the start last game in Omoruyi’s absence and put up eight points, six rebounds and two assists for 18 DK points. By no means is that a massive fantasy performance, but expect Carter to be more productive as he gets used to the starting role and should be getting 25-30 minutes (at least) at power forward for Rutgers. If Carter uses his 6’9,” 245-pound frame to his advantage, a potential double-double and serious value at this price could be on the docket.

Trevion Williams - PUR ($3,900 DK / $5,500 FD) - Williams may be the best value on the slate tonight with Evan Boudreaux (groin) not expected to play. The freshman was a non-factor for much of this season but Purdue’s injuries and poor frontcourt play has thrust him into the starting rotation with meaningful minutes. Williams is coming off back back-to-back games of double-digit rebounds and 34+ DK points in 20+ minutes - including his first career start in Boudreaux’s place in Friday’s win over Wisconsin. Williams should get the start yet again tonight if his teammate is out again, and has real potential to duplicate what he’s done over the last two games - making him a lock for all formats.
