Anton Khudobin was the first goaltender off the ice Sunday and that likely means he will start Sunday against Nashville.

The first goalie off almost always means they will get the start that night so we will make that assumption for Khudobin. He shut out Nashville Friday in the Stars opener, stopping all 34 shots. He will look to do more of the same against the Predators Sunday.

Cam Talbot will not play Sunday as he is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

That means that Kaapo Kahkonen will get the start with Andrew Hammond as the backup. The Wild are home to San Jose and Kahkonen will try to make it two wins in a row after replacing the injured Talbot at the start of the second period, stopping all 17 shots.

Mark Scheifele had a goal and two assists Saturday.

Scheifele will miss playing against the Senators for now as he had two goals and seven points in three games this week, giving him eight points in five games in the 2020-21 season. He is likely looking forward to February 11 when the Jets and Sens meet again.

Andrew Copp scored twice on Saturday to lead the Jets to a 6-3 win over Ottawa Saturday.

Copp started the season with a pair of pointless games but has a three game points streak and has two goals and four points in five games. He is playing with Paul Stastny and Nikolaj Ehlers on the second line at this time, giving him some fantasy value.

Paul Stastny picked up a power play goal and two assists Saturday.

It was Stastny's first points of the season and it gave his fantasy managers some breathing room as he went the first five games without a point. Stastny is centering Andrew Copp and Nikolaj Ehlers on the second line at this time but things could change as Pierre-Luc Dubois will enter the lineup after going through 14 days of quarantine. "Every game I'm feeling better and better out there. Most importantly, we're finding ways to win. Different guys are stepping up every night," said Stastny.

It is looking more and more that Benn will be a no-go for Sunday's game against Nashville. He played only 11:43 before leaving Friday. He did not have a point in the 7-0 win.

Zach Sanford has taken over Alexander Steen's role on the St. Louis penalty kill.

Steen's retirement left a hole in the penalty kill and Sanford is getting a shot there. “He’s a smart player defensively,” coach Craig Berube said. “We’ve noticed that for a while now and we’re using him more now in situations defensively and he’s a good offensive player too, he’s got good hands and the ability to score goals. We need him to be a good penalty killer for us, we lost penalty killers over the last year for us. He’s a guy that has to do the job for us.” Sanford had only 25:46 killing penalties last season and has already had 10:46 in only five games this year.

Darcy Kuemper will once again get the start in goal for Arizona Sunday.

It will be Kuemper's fourth straight start this week against the Golden Knights in a real quirk in this season's NHL schedule. He is 1-2-1 with a 3.23 GAA and a .893 save percentage as the Coyotes will keep the same lineup that beat Vegas 5-2 on Friday.
