Buffalo Sabres Vs. Boston Bruins

**Important** DraftKings has excluded the BUF/BOS game from the main slate, but not FanDuel.

There isn’t much to like from this matchup, but if you are playing on FanDuel today, you can definitely find some value plays, specifically the second line for the Buffalo Sabres.

Even if Buffalo played last night, Boston hasn’t been the powerhouse team we’ve known for the last couple of years. With Bergeron out of the lineup, this team isn’t the same. The goal is to avoid that top line, which leads us to Buffalo’s second line of Casey Middelstadt, Kyle Okposo and Conor Sheary. Middelstadt and Okposo also play together on the second power play unit and they won’t cost you an arm and a leg to roster.

If you don’t want to go that route, Jeff Skinner is a nice single-bullet option. At $6900, that is still a bargain.

On the flip side, Boston’s top line is always in play. Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak are elite hockey players that can rack up a couple of points in this contest. It might be best to limit them to GPPs only, but you could also throw them into a cash game lineup.

San Jose Sharks Vs. Chicago Blackhawks

There is nothing to like about the Chicago Blackhawks. They are a terrible hockey team and they are only getting worse. The San Jose Sharks are in town tonight, which means we will be breaking the golden rule. If you aren’t familiar with me on twitter, I’ve been burned by San Jose, specifically their top line, so many time that I’ve lost count. I vowed to never play SJ1, ever again. It’s worked out fairly well.

That being said, I never said anything about not playing SJ2! Their second line of Joe Pavelski, Evander Kane and Joonas Donskoi is where most DFS players should spend their money. Outside of the Jonathan Toews line, the rest of Chicago’s line are #NotGood. Kane and Pavelski don’t play on the same power play unit, but that shouldn’t scare anyone away.

Erik Karlsson is skating on BOTH power play units, so he’s a nice option to consider on this slate. He’s $7000 on FanDuel, which is way more than I’d like to spend on a defenceman, but there is enough value on this slate to fit him in.

In goal, let’s hope that Aaron Dell gets the start. He’s a much better goalie than Martin Jones, but head coach Peter DeBoer hasn’t figured that out yet. He’s well priced on DraftKings at $7700, and with how terrible Chicago is, it shouldn’t be hard for him to hit value.

Tampa Bay Lightning Vs. Winnipeg Jets

Get ready for a lot of goals in this matchup. Las Vegas has set the total at 6.5, which still feels kind of low. Both teams can score goals and they’ve been doing it a lot as of late.

Let’s start with the Lightning, who have a ton of firepower in their lineup that you can target almost any line that you’d like. There is a ton of value in playing the second line of Tyler Johnson, Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov. Playing Point and Kucherov will cost you over $16,000 on FanDuel, but it’s just so hard to pass up on them. Kucherov has a much better price tag on DraftKings, so that would be the best place to use him. They play together on the top power play unit too, so again, fading them just seems like an impossible task.

If you can’t fit those two studs into your lineup, you can move all the way down to the third line and still find value. Anthony Cirelli is riding a four game goal streak and he’s only $3300 on FanDuel. At that price, all Cirelli has to do is pick up a point and he hits value. You can pair him with J.T Miller and the pair would cost you below $8000. Now that is salary relief!

On the blueline, Victor Hedman is a nice option to consider, but only on Draftkings where he's $5100. He's $6600 on FanDuel, so he’s more of a GPP play. Most people will be on Hedman, which will drive his ownership way up. If you want to play him in cash games, that's not a problem, but be ready for the high ownership.

On the Winnipeg side, the top line is always a good option to look at. Mark Scheifele is $8600 on FanDuel, but Blake Wheeler is $7600, so that helps balance out the cost of rostering both players. The gab isn't as wide on DraftKings, but they don't offer the same value. The best value on that line is Nikolaj Ehlers, who is priced at $5700. His ownership will probably be over 50%, so you could look for another option in GPPs. He isn’t on the top power play unit, so hopefully that scares some people away from him.

The second line of Kyle Connor, Brian Little and Patrick Laine is also a nice option to consider. Little is priced below $5000 and he’s playing with arguably the second best sniper in the league ( Ovechkin is first, just in case you were wondering). You could also go with a Connor/Laine mini-stack, seeing as both wingers play together on the top power play unit.

On the back end, Dustin Byfuglien offers the best value of all the defenceman we’ve talked about so far. At $5400 on DraftKings, that’s the perfect value for a defenceman who is seeing a ton of minutes per night and is on the top power play unit. You can pair him with Laine/Connor and have yourself a power play stack that won’t break the bank.

Edmonton Oilers Vs. Vancouver Canucks

The Edmonton Oilers have been a completely different team since Ken Hitchcock took over as head coach, and that’s good news for DFS fans. They are in Vancouver to take on the Canucks in a game that could see some superstars put on a show.

Let’s start with the obvious-- Edmonton’s top line. Connor McDavid is averaging over 20 FPPG on FanDuel, so he’s an easy play in cash games if you can afford his $9200 price tag. The real bargain on this line is Alex Chiasson, who is only $4300. His ownership will be through the roof, but that’s ok. He’s benefited greatly from playing with McDavid and that should continue tonight.

With Oscar Klefbom out of the lineup, Darnell Nurse will be the new quarterback of the top power play unit. He’s only $4000 on FanDuel, which is exactly the value you will need on this slate.

Mikko Koskinen has been nothing short of amazing this season and that should continue tonight. Goaltending options on this slate are thin, but Koskinen has the best chance to hit value.

On the flip side, Vancouver is still a dangerous team that can score goals, specifically the second line Josh Leivo, Elias Pettersson and Brock Boeser. Leivo at $3400 on FanDuel is another excellent bargain play that will help you fit those expensive superstars into your lineup. In fact, you could probably stack the entire line in cash games and no one would call you crazy. Pettersson has been exceptional this season and he should be able to avoid a matchup with Edmonton’s top line.

Alexander Edler is the only defenceman worth looking at for Vancouver. He’s seeing a ton of minutes per night and he’s playing on the top power play unit. He’s averaging 3.5 FPPG on DraftKings, so he’s a solid cash game option.
