Duncan Robinson had another strong showing on Thursday vs. Philly with 22 points (9-of-14 FGs), two rebounds, one assist, four triples and three turnovers in 34 minutes.

He’s coming off a 26-point game with six triples and is enjoying a short-term boost in value with Miami down to just eight players in their last two games due to medical protocols. Robinson entered Thursday ranked 11th in the NBA in 3-pointers per game (3.4), but is only hitting 39.7% compared to 44.6% last season. That tells us that he still has some wiggle room to move up in the 9-cat rankings, so it could just be a matter of time before he breaks into the top-100.

The Heat were down to just eight available players, and Robinson led the way in minutes played. Primarily a points and 3-pointers option, the absences have given Robnison more room to produce in other areas. He should be rostered regardless of league format, and that will remain the case once the Heat are back to full strength.

Robinson had a string of single-digit performances after his Christmas Day 3-point bonanza, but he's gotten things back on track over the past two games with double-digit scoring and multiple triples. He won't do much for you outside those two categories, but he'll do enough in those areas to warrant a roster spot in most leagues.

Duncan Robinson scored a team-high 23 points on Friday, and his seven made 3-pointers tied an NBA record for most triples on Christmas Day.

Robinson had six triples in the first half alone, and he chipped in five boards with only one turnover in 32 minutes of action. The Pelicans repeatedly lost him off screens and curls early tonight, a luxury he won't often enjoy, though he didn't have as much space with Jimmy Butler (ankle) out after halftime. Robinson doesn't offer much beyond points and triples most nights, but fantasy GMs won't complain if he carries the 3-pointer category.

Robinson’s locked in as a starter, as he’s a necessary floor spacer in Miami’s first unit. He won’t do much for you in the way of defensive statistics, but he’ll hit enough triples and score enough points with efficient percentages to warrant a roster spot in most settings.

Miami has guaranteed the contracts of Duncan Robinson and Kendrick Nunn for the 2020-21 season.

The Heat will retain both Robinson and Nunn for the low price of $1.7 million each, so this was a fairly easy decision for Miami. Robinson should continue to start and chuck up bombs from beyond the perimeter next season and Nunn may also find himself back in a starting role in order to preserve Goran Dragic (assuming he returns). Both Robinson and Nunn make sense as late-round targets on draft day.

Heat team president Pat Riley said on Friday that he and the franchise hope to make decisions on the statuses of their young players in the very near future.

Given the recent reports that the NBA is considering the possibility of beginning next season shortly before Christmas, teams may be looking at a very short window in which to put together their rosters. For Miami the statuses of Duncan Robinson and Kendrick Nunn come into question, as both are on deals that are not fully guaranteed for next season. While Riley cited the franchise's desire to retain some financial flexibility, he also stressed the importance of taking care of their own guys. "It’s going to be a little bit dicey for us because of wanting that flexibility, but if things can happen prior to that, I think, we have to take care of our own as much as we can, but we don’t want to surrender that opportunity if it’s there, so those are the discussions that Andy and I and Nick [Arison] are having right now, and Spo, about it," Riley said. Robinson was one of the NBA's best 3-point shooters this season and certainly has value in most fantasy formats for that reason, and he'll be of even greater value if he can continue to develop as a defender and scorer off the dribble. As for Nunn, while he struggled in the bubble after recovering from COVID-19 it's important to remember that he was a Rookie of the Year finalist for a reason. He should bounce back.

Robinson was scoreless in Game 1 of the Finals, but increased his scoring each of the next four games, going for 9, 13, 17 and 26. That trend reversed itself tonight, though, as the Lakers' defense was clearly locked into stopping him at the 3-point line. If he can continue to develop his defense and driving skills, his fantasy game could take a leap in 2020-21.

After going scoreless in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, Robinson has steadily worked towards providing the perimeter shooting that the Heat need from him. The 26 points he scored Friday night represent a a playoff career-high for Robinson, with the seven 3-pointers matching his output in Miami’s Game 2 win over the Pacers in the first round. Miami will need a similar performance from him in Sunday’s Game 6, especially if Goran Dragic (left foot) is unable to go.

Petr Mrazek allowed three goals on just 20 shots in Saturday's 4-2 road loss against the Detroit Red Wings.

Mrazek stopped all 14 shots he faced in a shutout in the season opener against his former organization, but veteran Bobby Ryan beat him early in the second to break the ice, and then Dylan Larkin and Robby Fabbri grabbed goals in the third to make the difference. Fabbri's goal with 2:42 left in regulation was a killer. The Hurricanes are back at it for a back-to-back set in Nashville Monday and Tuesday, so expect Mrazek to start one of those outings, and James Reimer to get the nod in the other.

Haslem was one of many Heat players who were cleared to play Saturday night after sitting due to the NBA's health and safety protocols. But he didn't see any action, which comes as no surprise. Haslem will have to wait another day to make his season debut. Leave him on the waiver wire, as his value to the Heat locker room far outweighs his fantasy value.

Goran Dragic played 31 minutes in his return Saturday night, scoring 12 points (4-of-11 FGs, 4-of-6 FTs) with three rebounds and 10 assists.

Dragic, playing for the first time in a week due to the league’s health and safety protocols, established a new season-high with the ten assists. If there’s a concern regarding the veteran guard it’s his shooting, which has been mediocre (at best) outside of his January 9 explosion against the Wizards. Remove that 7-of-10 effort, and Dragic has shot 15-of-41 from the field (2-of-15 3-pointers) in Miami’s other four games this month. He’s certainly worth rostering however, especially with Jimmy Butler (health and safety protocols) still sidelined.

Bam Adebayo played 34 minutes in Saturday’s loss to the Pistons, tallying 28 points (8-of-11 FGs, 12-of-12 FTs), seven rebounds, six assists and three blocked shots.

Adebayo played in his first game since January 9 on Saturday, as he was sidelined due to the league’s health and safety protocols. The 12-of-12 night from the charity stripe was the best of Adebayo’s career to date, and he also established a new season-high with the three blocked shots. His return is great news for fantasy managers who have him rostered, especially if he can be even more consistent as a shot-blocker.

Making the first start of his NBA career, KZ Okpala shot 6-of-9 from the field in Saturday’s loss to the Pistons and finished with 15 points, one rebound, one assist and four 3-pointers in 27 minutes.

While Miami welcomed back a few consistent rotation members, the absences of Jimmy Butler (health and safety protocols) and Tyler Herro (neck spasms) freed up a spot in the starting lineup for Okpala. And he was solid, shooting 4-of-5 from beyond the arc. The negatives: there wasn’t much production outside of the points and 3-pointers, and Okpala also turned the ball over four times. If he gets another start, Okpala is worth a look in deeper leagues, but that’s his ceiling right now.

Slater Koekkoek posted his first goal of the season in Saturday's 5-1 home loss against the Montreal Canadiens.

Koekkoek already matched his second total in goals from last season, as he had a goal and 10 points with a plus-3 rating in 42 games for the Chicago Blackhawks. Fantasy owners of Carey Price aren't terribly thrilled with the 26-year-old rearguard, as Koekkoek's goal with about seven minutes to go in regulation spoiled what might have been a shutout. Despite the goal, Koekkoek isn't really someone to bother with in most fantasy pools.

Norman Powell had the hot hand for the Raptors on Saturday, scoring 24 points on 6-of-12 shooting in just 28 minutes off the bench.

Powell had his highest scoring game of the season which was also a team high in Toronto's win, tacking on three rebounds, two assists and a block All six of his made field goals came from beyond the arc and it was the third time he's made four threes in a game in 2020-21. Strange but true, Powell is shooting just 37% on from the floor but 38% on 3-pointers through 12 games.

Mikko Koskinen allowed five goals on 36 shots in Saturday's 5-1 home setback against the Montreal Canadiens.

Koskinen allowed a power-play goal in the first period, which wasn't the end of the world. However, Koskinen had a rough stretch in the second where he allowed three goals in a seven-minute span, including a shorthanded marker to Jake Evans. He has appeared in all three games for the Oilers so far, going 1-2-0 with a 4.04 goals-against average and .892 save percentage. Don't be surprised if Mike Smith is tabbed for Monday's battle against the Canadiens.
