Gillaspie was placed on the 10-day disabled list May 11 with back spasms and will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Sacramento on Friday, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Gillaspie had been off to a slow start at the plate (6-for-45) before landing on the disabled list with back spasms last week. It's unclear as to how many rehab games the infielder will need to play, but he's eligible to return as soon as May 21.

Dylan Moore went 2-for-4 with a homer and a double in a loss to the Angels on Tuesday.

Moore hit his second homer of the season with a shot off of Kenyon Middleton in the seventh. The utility player has performed well in his limited time with the Mariners this year; as seen in his .320 average and .680 slugging percentage. He's a decent DFS play when he is in the lineup against southpaws, but that's about it.

Ty Buttrey fired 1 1/3 scoreless frames to pick up a save on Tuesday against the Mariners.

The Angels' bullpen has been a disaster this year, and while it did allow two runs on Tuesday, Buttrey was able to silence the Mariners' bats to pick up his first save of the season. The 27-year-old threw 11-of-16 pitches for strikes; nice to see from a pitcher that has struggled with command to begin 2020 and also was an issue in 2019. After this effort, it seems possible -- but not a lock -- that Buttrey gets more save chances going forward for the Angels.

Justin Dunn allowed three runs over four innings in a loss to the Angels on Tuesday.

This could have gone much worse. Dunn allowed a solo homer to Mike Trout and a two-run homer in the first, and he had no idea where his pitches were going early on; as seen in his four walks. Give the former top prospect credit, however, as he settled down very nicely and showed off the strikeout-stuff that makes him such an intriguing prospect. Still, until he improves his command -- significantly -- it’s going to be hard to trust him as a fantasy starter. Dunn squares off against the Rangers on Monday.

Andrew Heaney allowed one run over 5 2/3 innings on Tuesday to pick up a victory over the Mariners.

Heaney did not have his best command on Tuesday, as he walked four and threw 52-of-87 pitches for strikes. Still, he was able to get the job done, with the only run coming across on an Austin Nola triple in the sixth. Pitching has been an issue for the Angels to begin the year, but Heaney has been effective with a 2.35 ERA over his first three starts. He’s scheduled to face the Athletics on Monday.

Todd Frazier doubled twice and drove in a run on Tuesday in a loss to the Athletics.

Frazier's RBI double in the sixth inning was the only run of the contest for the Rangers, as they were shut down by a very effective Jesus Luzardo. The veteran infielder is hitting only .233 on the season, but his .810 OPS and four doubles show he's still getting on at a decent clip (.343 on-base percentage) and capable of driving the baseball.

George Springer went 1-for-5 but drove in three runs in a rout of the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Springer picked up a sac fly in the third, and he picked up his second and third RBI with a two-run double in the fifth inning. The outfielder has really struggled to hit for average over this first 20 percent of the season, but he does have 10 RBI. Springer is just too good to expect him to hit .189/.333/.378 for much longer.

Jose Altuve launched a solo homer to help the Astros to a win over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

Altuve got the Astros on the board with a solo shot off of a struggling Madison Bumgarner. That was the only hit of the day, but if you're only going to have one, why not make it a homer? Altuve has now homered twice in 2020, but his .163/.280/.326 line is a disappointment for anyone who selected him with an early pick in March or July.

Carlos Correa went 3-for-3 with a homer and two walks in a 8-2 victory over the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.

A five-reach game is always nice to see. Correa launched the second homer of the game -- and his second homer of this young campaign -- in the second inning off of an ineffective Madison Bumgarner. With the homer along with the two singles and two free passes, Correa sees his slash improve to .389/.488/.639 with six RBI. It's still technically early, but Correa appears locked in to begin this 2020 season.

Madison Bumgarner gave up eight runs -- seven earned -- over 4 1/3 innings in a loss to the Astros on Tuesday.

Bumgarner gave up solo homers in each of the first two innings to Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa, respectively, but things really fell apart in the fifth inning. He gave up a six-spot in that frame before being pulled, and it turned a mediocre start into a wretched one. The long-time Giant had pitched decently in his first two starts with the D-Backs, but after this one , his ERA has jumped to 7.04 over 15 1/3 innings. We’ll see MadBum back on the mound on Sunday against the Padres.

Cristian Javier pitched well against the Diamondbacks, allowing just a run over six innings in a victory on Tuesday.

Javier scattered four hits, and he walked one with two strikeouts. It’s another impressive start for the rookie right-hander, and while he didn’t miss as many bats as the eight-strikeout performance he had against the Dodgers in the previous outing, he threw strikes and kept the Arizona hitters off-balance all evening. Keep in mind that Javier posted a 1.74 ERA in the minors last year -- the best of any qualified hurler -- so this isn’t coming out of nowhere. Maybe expect some regression because he doesn’t have elite stuff, but Javier can pitch. He faces the Athletics on Sunday.

Howie Kendrick went 4-for-4 and homered Tuesday in the Nationals' 5-3 win over the Mets.

Kendrick was likely the Nationals' hitter least bothered by the team's weeklong break. Not only was he dealing with some back tightness, but he's also used to going a few days without at-bats anyway. Kendrick was 2-for-16 in five games this season coming into this one, but at age 36, he's still a force to be reckoned with in the heart of the Nationals' order.
