Jayson Stark of The Athletic reports that the Phillies have made J.T. Realmuto a five-year offer worth slightly more than $100 million.

Stark says that the offer "is believed to be somewhere in the range" of a proposal the Phils made last March. Realmuto had his sights set higher last spring and surely did at the beginning of the offseason, too. However, there don't seem to be that many teams in on the bidding for the free agent catcher, so it's possible he might have to wind up taking a little less than expected. The Blue Jays and Nationals have also been linked to Realmuto.

Chris Archer (shoulder) is scheduled to pitch during an intra-squad simulated game on Saturday at the Rays' spring training facility.

Archer threw another bullpen session earlier this week and has been progressing towards his Grapefruit League exhibition debut. The 32-year-old veteran righty missed the entire pandemic-shorted 2020 season due to neurogenic thoracic outlet syndrome, which he underwent surgery for last June. He's aiming to be in the Rays' Opening Day rotation after inking a one-year, $6.5 million deal this offseason. Given his track record, he's worth monitoring closely in deeper mixed leagues and AL-only formats this spring.

Odubel Herrera will start in center field against the Blue Jays on Saturday.

There's a chance that this game is postponed due to inclement weather, but Herrera is slated to start in center field for the first time this spring, with versatile Scott Kingery shifting over to left field. With Adam Haseley sidelined due to a groin strain, the 29-year-old outfielder appears to have a realistic shot at making the Phillies' Opening Day roster. He's gotten off to a hot start this spring, hitting .500 (3-for-6) with a home run and a stolen base.

Cole threw a live batting practice at the Yankees spring training facility on Friday. Another former Pirates' right-hander, Jameson Taillon, will toe the rubber against their former organization. With rain in the forecast, it's unclear how for he'll go in this one, but he's still scheduled to start the exhibition contest, with Jhoulys Chacin, Luis Cessa, Brooks Kriske and Adam Warren also scheduled to pitch this afternoon.

Keller threw live batting practice on Friday instead as the Pirates elected not to take a risk with the health of their high-octane, hard-throwing righty, especially with rain in the forecast. Right-hander Cody Ponce will start in his place against former Pirates' stalwart Jameson Taillon, who is still scheduled to take the mound for the Yankees.

With rain in the forecast, the Phillies have elected to play it safe with their staff ace, who threw 29 pitches over two innings in his spring training debut on Monday. Right-hander Adonis Medina will start against the Blue Jays in Dunedin this afternoon.

According to Jon Heyman of MLB Network, the market for free agent third baseman Maikel Franco is beginning to heat up.

It's a bit surprising that the 28-year-old remains unsigned after posting a .778 OPS with the Royals in 2020, but here we are. It remains unclear which teams are interested in Franco -- though the Rockies seem like a logical candidate from a need perspective and would represent a tremendous boon to his fantasy value.

Trent Grisham went 1-for-2 with a double and a pair of runs scored as the Padres throttled the Giants 9-3 in Cactus League play on Friday evening in Arizona.

Grisham drew a walk to begin the home half of the first inning, then wound up coming around to score on a single by Fernando Tatis Jr. and an error by center fielder LaMonte Wade. He then delivered a go-ahead two-run double off of Anthony Banda in the fourth inning -- giving the Padres a lead they would never relinquish. After his breakout 2020 campaign, Grisham looks to be one of the best power/speed combinations in the league entering the 2021 season -- especially among those going outside the first two rounds in most fantasy drafts.

Emilio Pagan was roughed up by the Giants in Friday's Cactus League outing, allowing three runs on four hits in his lone inning of work.

Pagan punched out two and didn't walk a batter. After striking out Alex Dickerson to begin the fourth inning, Pagan surrendered a double to Curt Casali and then a two-run bomb to Wilmer Flores. The next two hitters then reached on singles, but Pagan was able to catch a break getting Mauricio Dubon to bunt into a fielder's choice before striking out Steven Duggar to end the threat. In competition with Drew Pomeranz, Keone Kela and Mark Melancon for the team's closer's job to begin the season, Pagan can't really afford too many blowups like this during Cactus League play.

Joe Musgrove looked sharp in his Padres Cactus League debut on Friday, striking out one over a pair of perfect innings.

Musgrove made quick work of a depleted Giants lineup in this one, generating a lot of weak contact through the first five hitters, then punching out Joey Bart on a swinging third strike. A recurring breakout candidate on many yearly lists, Musgrove is primed to take a major step forward with his new club in 2021. Over the last week, he's being drafted as a top-35 starting pitcher in fantasy drafts -- sitting just inside the top 125 players overall.

Wilmer Flores swatted a two-run homer in a losing effort against the Padres in Friday's Cactus League showdown.

Flores tagged Padres' potential closer Emilio Pagan for a two-run shot in the fourth inning that pulled the Giants to within a run at 3-2. It was his lone hit in two at-bats on the evening. For the spring, he's now hitting .400 (2-for-5) with three RBI. The 29-year-old hit out of the cleanup spot in a watered-down version of the Giants lineup on Friday.
