Chargers placed the franchise tag on TE Hunter Henry.
This was widely expected and a no-brainer move for the Chargers. Henry's injury history has limited to him playing 41-of-64 regular season games, but he's averaging 8.9 yards per career target, making him one of the better tight ends in the league when he's on the field. With the Chargers potentially going with a rookie quarterback for part of the upcoming season, it's wise to keep Henry around as a check-down option with some YAC ability. Henry will be a mid-range TE1 in fantasy drafts depending on who is under center. He'll be incentivized to have a big season to secure a long-term deal next offseason. Mar 13 1:26 pm (EST)
