Patriots signed No. 101 overall pick TE Dalton Keene to a four-year contract.

The Pats surrendered three picks, including a 2021 sixth-rounder, to move up 24 spots for the tight end. Keene (6'4/253) siphoned eight receiving scores in his final two years at Virginia Tech but was mainly asked to block throughout his career, hence his 1.9 targets per game at the collegiate level. While unproven as a downfield threat, Keene still led all FBS tight ends with 8.4 yards after the catch per reception, flashing the same athleticism and wiggle that allowed him to rush for 171/1,175/18 and 6.9 YPC as a first-team all-state running back in his senior year of high school. Keene is durable (38 consecutive starts with the Hokies) and typically error-free on tape (zero penalties in 2019) but could tip his own offense's hand on third downs given his limited receiving chops. His 81st-percentile SPARQ athleticism and versatility should allow him to stick around as a viable H-back at the NFL level for years to come. May 13 10:33 am (EST)
