Hoyer completed passes in two games during the 2019 season, connecting on 35 of 65 attempts for 372 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions.
Hoyer technically appeared in four games, but in two of those contests he was only asked to take a knee. All of the journeyman's extensive action came in Weeks 9 and 10 when starting quarterback Jacoby Brissett went down with a knee injury. Hoyer is under contract for the 2020 season and should return as the Colts backup signal-caller. Jan 23 9:07 pm (EST)
- Coach Frank Reich said after Wednesday's practice that Hoyer would return to the backup role behind Jacoby Brissett (knee) in the Colts' Week 11 game against the Jaguars, Kevin Bowen of 107.5 The Fan Indianapolis reports. "I'm assuming [Brissett is] going to be good and barring any setback the rest of the week, he'll be the starter," Reich said.
- Hoyer completed 18 of 39 passes for 204 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions in the team's Week 10 loss to Miami.
- Hoyer will start Sunday's game against the Dolphins after Jacoby Brissett (knee) was downgraded to out. All Brian Hoyer News
