De'Andre Bembry has managed to make a positive impression on Raptors coach Nick Nurse during the preseason.
While he entered the NBA as a versatile playmaker, Bembry failed to establish himself as a consistent rotation player in Atlanta. To this point in the season the change of scenery has worked out well for him, and he appears to have carved out a place for himself in the Raptors' regular season rotation. "It's hard to keep Bembry off the floor...," Nurse said when asked about Bembry. "Utility guy, little bit bigger guard that could probably shift up...I think he's shown that he's a good basketball player, two-way player." Bembry's unlikely to be a must-have fantasy option early on, but keep an eye on how he's used. Nurse isn't one to sugarcoat things, so Thursday's comments are a positive sign for Bembry.
