David Price fired a scoreless ninth inning against the Rockies on Thursday to record his first career save.

Seriously. Price picked up his first-ever save in the 325th regular season appearance of his big-league career. The 35-year-old lefty, who did record a postseason save as a rookie with the Rays back in 2008, was summoned to protect a two-run lead in the ninth inning, with Kenley Jansen presumably unavailable after closing out two of their last three games. He gave up back-to-back singles to open the frame, which put the tying runs on base, before striking out pinch-hitter Trevor Story. He appeared to settle in after that, whiffing Garrett Hampson, and also coaxing a game-ending ground out from Raimel Tapia to preserve the victory. Fantasy managers shouldn't count on Price converting too many save opportunities moving forward, but he's clearly embraced the non-traditional relief role the Dodgers have presented to him this season.

Ryan McMahon went 2-for-4 with a solo homer on Thursday in the Rockies' loss to the Dodgers.

McMahon kicked off the scoring with a solo shot to right field -- his sixth round-tripper of the season -- off Julio Urias in the opening frame. He also doubled and scored a run in the sixth inning. The 26-year-old second baseman is hitting .306/.320/.755 with nine runs scored, six home runs, 10 RBI and one stolen base in 50 plate appearances this season.

Max Muncy delivered a go-ahead, three-run homer in the seventh inning on Thursday to propel the Dodgers to a comeback win over the Rockies.

Muncy put the Dodgers ahead with a clutch 405-foot blast to right-center field off Rockies' reliever Yency Almonte in the seventh inning. It was his third round-tripper of the season. The 30-year-old slugger owns an extra-terrestrial .366/.519/.683 triple-slash line with 10 runs scored, six extra-base hits, 10 RBI and a 7/12 K/BB ratio across 54 plate appearances.

Garrett Hampson hit a solo homer on Thursday in the Rockies' loss to the Dodgers.

Hampson capitalized on a mistake from Dodgers' lefty Julio Urias, smashing a line-drive solo shot to left field in the third inning. It was his only hit in five at-bats in the back-and-forth contest. The 26-year-old utilityman doesn't offer much in terms of over-the-fence pop, but has sneaky pop when he pulls the ball.

Justin Turner went 3-for-3 with a three-run homer on Thursday, leading the Dodgers to a 7-5 comeback victory over the Rockies.

Turner reached base safely in all four of his plate appearances as the Dodgers notched their seventh consecutive win, and completed a three-game series sweep against their division rivals. He put the Dodgers on the board by connecting on a 74 mph curveball from Rockies' southpaw Austin Gomber, launching a three-run homer to left-center field -- his fourth round-tripper of the season -- in the third inning. The 36-year-old veteran third baseman has already equaled his over-the-fence output from the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign and appears to be on his way to eclipsing the 20-homer mark for the fourth time in the last six seasons. He's shown zero signs of slowing down at the plate, slashing .432/.480/.841 with 10 runs scored, 10 extra-base hits and 14 RBI in 50 plate appearances. He remains an exceptional four-category fantasy contributor, when fully healthy.

Matt Olson launched a solo homer and also walked twice on Thursday, leading the Athletics to an 8-4 win over the Tigers.

Olson barreled up a center-cut 86 mph changeup from Tigers' righty Buck Farmer, lifting a gargantuan 428-foot solo homer to right-center field -- his second long ball of the season -- in the fifth inning. It was his lone hit in three at-bats, but he also drew a pair of walks in this one. The 27-year-old slugger tore the cover off the ball in spring training, but has gotten off to a bit of a slow start at the plate, hitting .235/.357/.441 with three extra-base hits and seven RBI in 42 plate appearances.

Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo told reporters on Thursday that they'll have more information on Cavan Biggio's hand on Friday.

Biggio left Thursday's game against the Royals with pain in his right hand, and was replaced by Joe Panik. There's a good chance that the 26-year-old is undergoing some sort of testing, or that the testing can't take place just yet because of swelling. Either way, there's a good chance Biggio will be out of the lineup on Friday, but we won't know for sure for a bit.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 3-for-5 with a solo homer on Thursday in the Blue Jays' loss to the Royals.

Guerrero Jr. clobbered a mammoth 456-foot solo homer to left-center field -- his third round-tripper of the season -- off Royals' reliever Kyle Zimmer in the seventh inning. He also doubled and singled to record his sixth multi-hit effort in his last eight games. The 22-year-old third baseman has recorded an astounding 16 batted balls with an exit velocity in excess of 100 mph through 13 games this season. He owns a sublime .413/.526/.674 triple-slash line with six extra-base hits, 10 RBI, and one stolen base across 57 plate appearances. He won't sustain this stratospheric level of production moving forward, but he's clearly evolving into a legitimate four-category fantasy superstar.

Hunter Dozier went 2-for-4 with an RBI double on Thursday, propelling the Royals to a 7-5 win over the Blue Jays.

Dozier lined an RBI double into the left-field corner off Blue Jays' southpaw Anthony Kay, extending the Royals lead to four runs, in the fourth inning. He eventually came around to score on Hanser Alberto's double off righty Tanner Roark later in the frame. The versatile 29-year-old slugger missed time with a hand injury, and has gotten off to a sluggish start at the plate, hitting .167/.231/.208 across 26 plate appearances this season. It may take him some time to get going, but he's still a legitimate threat to reach the 25-homer plateau over the course of a full season.

Joey Gallo singled, walked twice, and also scored a run on Thursday in the Rangers' win over the Rays in extra-innings.

Gallo overhauled his approach at the plate during the offseason, placing a newfound emphasis on hitting more line drives, which has catalyzed a massive reduction in his average launch angle to open the 2021 campaign. It's too early to draw any definitive conclusions, but his plate skills appear to have taken a massive step forward as well. The 27-year-old slugger leads the major leagues with 13 walks in 56 plate appearances, and has struck out only 16 times (29 percent) during that span. He'll end up trading some of the plate discipline for over-the-fence pop at some point, but the newfound approach seems to be paying off so far.

Eduardo Escobar went 2-for-5 with a solo homer on Thursday in the Diamondbacks' lopsided win over the Nationals.

Escobar reached base safely in three of his six plate appearances, and also walloped his fifth round-tripper of the season, a solo shot to left field off Nationals' lefty Patrick Corbin in the first inning. The 32-year-old third baseman doesn't offer much appeal in terms of batting average or counting stats these days, but he's still more than capable of launching the occasional homer, while also chipping in a handful of stolen bases.

Cavan Biggio left Thursday's game against the Royals with pain in his right hand.

Joe Panik has come in to take Biggio's place. It was a rough day for the 26-year-old, as he was 0-for-2 and had committed two errors before exiting. While Biggio has struggled to begin the 2021 season, his absence would be a significant one for Toronto and fantasy managers. The Blue Jays announced he's undergoing further evaluation, and more info should be available either after the game or on Friday.

Gavin Lux was scratched from the lineup on Thursday against the Rockies with a sore right wrist.

Lux was slated to play shortstop but that won't happen now. Chris Taylor moves to shortstop, and AJ Pollock will now play in center. Lux should be considered day-to-day for now, but stay tuned for further injury updates. Edwin Rios is the new member of the lineup, and he'll hit sixth while playing first base.

Blue Jays placed RHP Jordan Romano on the 10-day injured list with right ulnar neuritis.

A significant loss for the Blue Jays pitching staff. This comes a bit out of nowhere as there were no real reports of Romano being injured prior to this placement. An update on how long the right-hander is expected to be out should be available shortly, but for now, Toronto -- and fantasy managers -- will be without Romano's services for at least a couple of weeks.

Giants placed RHP Johnny Cueto on the 10-day disabled list with a Grade 1 lat strain.

Cueto had to leave his start on Thursday with the lat injury after throwing five shutout innings in a win over the Reds. The right-hander will miss at least a couple of starts, and may not be able to return until May at the earliest. A corresponding move will be announced on Friday.

Seager gets a night off, and so does Mookie Betts as Los Angeles gives two of their most important players some rest before a big series starting on Friday against the Padres. Mitch Haniger went 2-for-4 with a solo homer on Thursday to help the Mariners to a 2-1 win in the second game of a doubleheader.

Haniger hit one of two solo homers for the Mariners on Thursday to help Seattle sweep the doubleheader and move to 8-5 on the year. It's already the fourth homer of the year for the 30-year-old outfielder, and he's hitting .321 with a .623 slugging percentage thus far. It's a friendly reminder that when healthy, Haniger was one of the best right fielders in the American League before his lost 2019 and 2020 campaigns. So far, he's looks like that player again in 2021.

Aaron Civale limited the White Sox to one run in six innings Thursday to improve to 3-0 on the season in the Indians' 4-2 victory.

Most of Civale's ratios aren't any better than last year, when he had a 4.74 ERA, but he just isn't giving up many hits that aren't homers; he's allowed a total of seven through 20 2/3 innings. As a result, he's 2-0 with a 2.18 ERA after three starts. He'll get to face the White Sox, this time in Cleveland, again next time out.

Emmanuel Clase picked up his third save despite giving up an unearned run in the ninth Thursday against the White Sox.

James Karinchak had the tougher assignment today, getting the third-through-sixth spots in the White Sox lineup during a scoreless eighth inning. Clase took over in the ninth and gave up a leadoff triple to Luis Robert in a three-run game. The run went around to score on an error, but Clase had no further difficulty in earning the save. Both Clase and Karinchak are sporting 0.00 ERAs for the Indians.

Lance Lynn took a loss after giving up two runs in six innings Thursday against the Indians.

Lynn struck out 10 and walked none, but a two-run homer from Jose Ramirez in the sixth doomed him to his first loss with the White Sox. He still has a nifty 0.92 ERA and 27/2 K/BB ratio after three starts.

The reigning AL MVP isn't off to a great start this year; he's batting .184 and tied for the major league lead with 21 strikeouts. It doesn't seem like anything to worry about, but it's another reason that the White Sox are stumbling along at 6-7 thus far.

Pineda allowed just two hits before exiting with a three-run lead with two innings to go. Unfortunately for him, Hansel Robles and Taylor Rogers combined to blow that lead in the eighth, with Alex Verdugo delivering a bases-loaded double that tied the game. Pineda has allowed just two earned runs over 19 innings in his three starts. He still hasn't taken a loss in 17 starts dating back to July 2019.

Colome came into a tie game to start the ninth after Taylor Rogers was charged with a blown save in the eighth and struck out two of the four batters he faced. It had to help his standing in the Twins pen some, particularly since Rogers didn't get the job done in the eighth.

Manny Machado had a two-run homer, a sac fly and a walk Thursday in the Padres' 8-3 win over the Pirates.

Going by his Statcast numbers, Machado has been one of the league's unluckiest hitters to date, but even so, he still has three homers and an .831 OPS in 14 games. The .240 average will surely come up, too, though he might not match the numbers that put him into MVP contention last year.

Chris Paddack surrendered three runs -- one earned -- in five innings Thursday in a win over the Pirates.

This isn't the Paddack of 2019, but the current version could still be a pretty useful fantasy starter with one of baseball's best teams backing him up. Paddack threw 99 pitches today, 72 of which were fastballs. He probably would have gone to his plus changeup more often if he hadn't staked to a big lead while facing a weak offense. Paddack is 1-1 with a 4.15 ERA after three turns.
