2023 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: Other than the fact he didn't play in 150+ games like he did the two seasons prior, Edman's 2023 season was much like the previous two. He hit 10+ home runs with 27+ stolen bases for the third straight season, and he remains one of the best in the game in terms of quantity of contact. His .242 average paled in comparison to his .262 xBA, so hopefully 2024 sees Edman get back up to a more respectable batting average.

2024 Outlook: He carries multi-positional eligibility for fantasy managers, and he's showing no signs of slowing down on the basepaths. He should be a shoo-in for 25+ stolen bases yet again in 2024, and despite underwhelming quality of contact, he'll log enough ABs to exceed 10 home runs for the fourth straight season. Edman's power numbers tend to come in spurts, but with the St. Louis offense being better this year than in 2023, Edman's numbers should rebound in 2024. I think a safe projection is somewhere between his 2022 and 2023 seasons, with more optimism of him eclipsing 30 stolen bases than getting to 15 home runs for the first time.
