Peter Fairbanks slammed the door on the Astros 2020 season on Saturday, recording the final four outs in Game 7 of the ALCS to finish off a series-clinching victory for the Rays.
Fairbanks came on with two men on and two outs in the eighth inning, where he walked Michael Brantley to load the bases and allowed a two-run single to Carlos Correa. He battled back though -- striking out Alex Bregman to end the inning and the threat. Fairbanks returned for the ninth, where he struck out Kyle Tucker before allowing a one-out single to Yuli Gurriel. He roared back to strike out Josh Reddick -- setting up a showdown with Aledmys Diaz. Fairbanks won the battle, getting Diaz to fly out to right -- sending the Astros home and the Rays into the World Series. Oct 17 11:47 pm (EST)
