Nelson Cruz told the Minneapolis Star-Tribune that he has no plans to retire after the 2020 season.

The 40-year-old slugger recorded 41 home runs and a career-high 1.031 OPS in 120 games last year with the AL Central-champion Twins. Why stop now, then, especially with the National League adopting the DH for 2020 and possibly beyond (he'll be a free agent in 2021). “I don’t see it [soon]," Cruz said of retirement. "A lot of people who retire from baseball do it because injuries start to come. They kill you during the game, and you don’t want to be in pain. You start to not perform the way you used to, and the game takes you out. But my body is in good shape, and I’m doing everything I can to keep it that way. Why would I retire?”  Jul 01 8:35 am (EST)
