Kyle Higashioka socked three homers and drove in five runs in the Yankees’ 13-2 blowout victory over the Blue Jays on Wednesday.

You read that correctly. Using the whole field, Higashioka got his night started with a two-run homer in the second inning before hitting a solo shot in the sixth and another two-run homer in the seventh. He couldn’t keep the smile off his face while rounding the bases on his final one. The 30-year-old became the first Yankees player with a three-homer game since Gary Sanchez on April 7, 2019. According to Sarah Langs of, Higashioka is the first ever Yankees player to have a three-homer game batting ninth. Keep in mind that Higashioka had seven home runs in 188 plate appearances in the majors coming into Wednesday’s action, so we wouldn’t expect these sorts of fireworks to continue. But this was certainly a night to remember. Sep 16 10:30 pm (EST)
