2023 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: Hendricks continues to be a veteran presence in the Chicago rotation, and he's remained consistent over the years. Last year, he made 24 starts for the Cubs, posting a 3.74 ERA, 1.20 WHIP, and 46.3 percent ground ball rate. His already low strikeout rate dropped to 16.1 percent last season, and typically, a pitch-to-contact guy at Wrigley Field could spell disaster for a starting pitcher. However, the crafty veteran knows how to pitch, and without overwhelming velocity, he can induce weak contact and help your team's ratios.

2024 Outlook: Due to the dearth of strikeouts in his game, he's virtually free in drafts, making him a boring late round pick that will give your fantasy team 130+ innings with an ERA at or slightly above four, and a respectable WHIP. However, from a fantasy standpoint, since he doesn't miss bats, his margin for error is small.
