2023 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: The Royals acquisition of Hunter Renfroe could go a long way in helping to change a major weakness of the team – offense. Renfroe has been a right-handed slugger that makes an impact on every team that he has played for throughout his career. His five-year streak of hitting at least 26 home runs in a full 162-game season ended last year (20 in 2023) and he only slashed .233/.297/.416. 

2024 Outlook: If his subpar 2023 output was just an outlier, fans will appreciate his role in the club as the team must believe that there's more power to come from Renfroe who hit 33 home runs for the Padres in 2019. With his right-handedness and slugging ability Renfroe helps fill a major hole in an outfield that lacked offensive production last season and makes the overall Royals lineup much stronger in 2024.
