Yelich (kneecap) will begin running this week and expects to be fully healthy for winter workouts, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports.
Yelich was given an 8-to-10 week recovery timeline after fracturing his kneecap in September, and it appears as though he has been progressing well so far. A return to health in time for winter workouts would allow him to have a normal offseason and would signal that he'd likely be ready for spring training with no limitations. The 27-year-old hit .329/.429/.671 with 44 home runs and 30 stolen bases over 130 games in 2019 prior to his injury. Nov 11 2:28 pm (EST)
- Yelich (kneecap) said Wednesday that his recovery is going good and that things will be back to normal after a few more weeks of rehab, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
- Yelich's rehab from a fractured kneecap is "going great," according to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, and he responded, "It would be cutting it close, but you can't rule anything out," when asked about a possible return during the World Series, Robert Murray of The Athletic reports.
- Yelich was officially diagnosed with a right patella fracture and will need 8-to-10 weeks to fully recover, Sophia Minnaert of FOX Sports Wisconsin reports. All Christian Yelich (L) News
