2023 Player Outlook

2023 Recap: Rodgers dislocated his shoulder in early March, and he was unable to get on the field for the Rockies until the end of July. He struggled his first month back, but in September, his .302/.356/.479 showed why many, including myself, believed he could breakout in 2023. Albeit a smaller sample size compared to years past, there was a lot to like about his batted ball metrics, namely his 10.9 percent barrel rate, and 40.1 percent hard hit rate.

2024 Outlook: He won't help your team with stolen bases, as he doesn't have a single stolen base with the Rockies, but over a full season, he could hit .260-.275 with 13+ home runs with half of his games being played at Coors Field. He doesn't take a ton of walks, so his value in OBP leagues takes a bit of a hit, but Rodgers is nearly free in drafts, and worth a pick in the later rounds of your draft, so long as you have addressed speed with earlier selections.
