Denny Hamlin was awarded the Peacock Provisional after his effort in Night 2 of the NASCAR America Short Track Challenge at eLucas Oil Raceway Park and he will advance to Thursday night's championship race at eMartinsville Speedway.
Hamlin was awarded the provisional by Steve Letarte for "making the race interesting". In the closing laps, he got on the wall and scraped his way around the course. In the run to the checkers, he turned hard left into Christopher Bell and sent both spinning across the line. He joins Bell, and Kyle Larson as championship contenders from Lucas Oil, plus William Byron and Kyle Busch from Rockingham.

Christopher Bell won Race 2 on Night 2 of the NASCAR America Short Track Challenge at eLucas Oil Raceway Park and he will advance to the Championship race at Martsinville Speedway on Thursday.
Track position made the difference in this race. After crashing early with Justin Allgaier in Race 1, he started from the pole with the inversion. Bell scooted away from the field and lead all 40 laps. Denny Hamlin tried to blitzkrieg Bell on the final lap and wrecked him at the finish line.

Kyle Larson took the lead on the opening lap of Race 1 of the 40-lap iRace Short Track Challenge at eLucas Oil Raceway Park.
Lrson was much stronger in this race than he has been in the NASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational that has been run in recent weeks as an alternative to the NASCAR Cup schedule. In that series, he has a best of ninth in three races. That top-10 came at eTexas in Week 2.

Busch’s Average Running Position of 11.457 ranks seventh among 38 drivers. This statistic mirrors his year to date. He got off to a slow start with the 16th-best running position at Daytona and 12th-best at Las Vegas. His last two attempts have been much better, however, and land in the top five with a best of 6.08 at Phoenix in the FanShield 500k.

Ross Chastain has made 205 Quality Passes according to NASCAR Statistical Services. A Quality Pass is a pass for position while a driver is running in the top 15.
With 205 Quality Passes, Chastain is ranked 18th among 41 drivers. Chastain recorded his most passes at Daytona in the churn of the draft, but he has competed among the top 15 in all four races. In the three unrestricted events, he has ranked between 16th and 19th in this statistic. Chastain logged 44 QPs at Las Vegas in Week 2 for his second-best outing.

Alex Bowman is one of 22 drivers to have scored at least one top-10 in 2020 in the Cup series. He is one of 16 drivers with a top-five.
Bowman made the most of his top-five. He won the Auto Club 400 and did so in dominant fashion. That is his only top-10 of the season, but it was not his only strong run. Bowman has top-15s from Las Vegas and Phoenix. At Vegas, he was challenging for the win before a late-race caution changed the outcome of the race.

Cole Custer has an average finish of 20.75 through Week 4 of the 2020 season.
Custer’s average finish of 20.75 ranks fifth among 38 drivers with two or more starts this year. With the exception of the Daytona 500, Custer has swept the top 20. He has run very well, but occasionally had difficulty in managing the race until the end. At Phoenix, he was finally able to get the result he deserved and finished ninth.

Matt DiBenedetto has an average finish of 11.75 and average start of 14.00 through Week 4 of the 2020 schedule, giving him a place-differential of +2.25.
DiBenedetto’s +2.25 ranks 12th-best among 38 drivers so far this season. Despite having a positive place-diff, he has actually been incredibly consistent between his starting and finishing positions. DiBenedetto had a +17 at Vegas to finish second, but the remainder of his races ended within four spots of his qualification effort.
