Reyes Moronta (shoulder) has been sent home.

Moronta had been throwing well at the Giants' alternate training site as he completes his recovery from surgery for a torn labrum in his right shoulder, but that site has since been closed, and the team doesn't want to rush him back. The 27-year-old right-hander should be in the mix for saves in 2021 if his health cooperates.

Julio Teheran will be skipped on his final scheduled turn through the Angels' starting rotation.

Andrew Heaney, Dylan Bundy, and Griffin Canning are the listed starters for the Angels in their final series this weekend at Dodger Stadium. Teheran could potentially work in mop-up duty in one of those games. As it stands, the 29-year-old impending free agent holds a brutal 9.49 ERA over 30 1/3 total innings this season.

Juan Soto is playing right field for the Nationals again on Wednesday against the Phillies.

Soto had exclusively played left field as a major leaguer before getting a turn in right in the second half of Tuesday's doubleheader versus Philadelphia. Nationals manager Dave Martinez noted Wednesday that the team wants to see how Soto fares as a right fielder while there are still live games to be played in 2020. This seems to be about creating some potential roster flexibility leading into the offseason.

Nick Senzel is out of the Reds' starting lineup on Wednesday against the Brewers.

Senzel went 0-for-4 in Tuesday's loss and is 1-for-18 since returning from the injured list on September 14. Aristides Aquino, Shogo Akiyama, and Nick Castellanos will start across the outfield Wednesday.

This looks to be a routine day of mental and physical rest for the star shortstop, who has been in a little bit of an offensive funk over the last two weeks. Jake Cronenworth will play short and bat second Wednesday against right-hander Jaime Barria. Jurickson Profar is covering second base and hitting ninth.

Yasmani Grandal (hand) is absent from the White Sox starting lineup again on Wednesday.

Grandal appeared as a pinch hitter on Tuesday night, but he'll get another day of mostly treatment and rest, with James McCann filling in behind the plate and batting sixth against the Indians and ace Shane Bieber. Grandal took a foul tip off his right hand on Monday, but X-rays came back negative and he should be a full-go for Chicago leading into the first round of the playoffs.

White Sox 1B prospect Andrew Vaughn will be part of the team's postseason player pool, per Mark D. Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune.

It would probably take a couple of significant injuries for Vaughn to crack the active roster, but that scenario can't be ruled out. The 22-year-old was selected third overall in the 2019 MLB Draft out of the University of California-Berkeley and went on to post an .832 OPS with six home runs and 36 RBI over his first 55 professional games last summer, ending the year at High-A Winston-Salem. Vaughn has exclusively played first base so far as a pro, but he did get some work at third base during summer camp in July.
