T. Zeuch - SP
T.J. Zeuch yielded three runs -- two earned -- in three innings Thursday in his spot start versus the Yankees.
Zeuch's own error led to the unearned run. The 25-year-old Zeuch has allowed 16 runs -- 11 earned -- in 15 innings for the Blue Jays this year. He'll probably return to Triple-A now.

J. Dunn - SP
Justin Dunn left Thursday's game due to right shoulder discomfort.
This is unfortunate. The right-hander had thrown two scoreless innings before exiting the game. Dunn has already been on the injured list this season with shoulder inflammation, so this is certainly a cause for concern. More details to come.

Giancarlo Stanton went 2-for-4 with a two-run homer and a walk Thursday against the Blue Jays.
Stanton has four homers in his last five starts. He has 13 homers, and he's tied with Aaron Judge for the Yankees lead with 35 RBI, even though he's played in 16 fewer games.

R. McGuire - C
Reese McGuire went 3-for-3 with two doubles against the Yankees on Thursday.
He had the Jays' only extra-base hits tonight. In spite of that, the Jays had Riley Adams pinch-hit for him in the ninth tonight against lefty Zack Britton. It was an awfully tough matchup for McGuire, but he couldn't have done any worse than Adams, who hit into a game-ending double play. McGuire is hitting .246/.306/.368 while filling in for Danny Jansen.

L. Gurriel Jr. - LF
Lourdes Gurriel Jr. went hitless in a fourth straight game Thursday against the Yankees.
Gurriel seemed to have figured things out; he hit .363/.385/.571 with four homers in 24 games from May 14 to June 13. Hopefully, the 0-for-15 the last four days is just a temporary setback.

Charlie Morton took a no-no into the seventh and wound up pitching 7 2/3 scoreless innings Thursday in the Braves' 4-0 win over the Cardinals.
Paul Goldschmidt broke up the no-hit bid with a single in the seventh. Morton ended up allowing three hits in all, but all were singles. He struck out seven and walked none, though he did hit two batters. It was Morton's first scoreless start of at least five innings since his final outing of 2019. He moved to 6-3 with a 4.03 ERA for the year.

John Gant lost after allowing three runs in 5 1/3 innings Thursday against the Braves.
On the plus side, Gant finished with four strikeouts and two walks. It's just the third time in 13 starts this year that he's had two more strikeouts than walks. He's currently sporting a fine 3.50 ERA in spite of his 46/44 K/BB ratio.

G. Heredia - CF
Guillermo Heredia homered, doubled and walked Thursday against the Cardinals.
Heredia has been a terrific surprise for the Braves, hitting .275/.360/.467 in 136 plate appearances. It's too bad he really doesn't offer much range in center field these days, but the Braves might as well keep playing him there until Cristian Pache gives them reason to make a change.
