Vancouver Canucks at New York Rangers

The Rangers come in as -140 favorites tonight and have Henrik Lundqvist confirmed in net for them, but is a GPP option only tonight. This season the Rangers are giving up a 51 Corsi against, which always puts their goalies in line for plenty of saves, but with how young their defense is, they are bound for mistakes which often lead to goals. The save upside is there for Lundqvist tonight, just be aware of the risk. On the other side we have Jacob Markstrom in net for the Canucks who has allowed three or more goals in three of his last four games, so we could be in for a bit of a barn burner tonight since the over-under is set at six.

The Canucks are led by their young and very exciting forward core of Elias Pettersson, Bo Horvat, Loui Eriksson, Jake Virtanen, and Nikolay Goldobin. If you are stacking them up, which is great for GPPs, I would stick with Pettersson, Horvat, Goldobin, and Pouliot who make up the first power-play stack. Their prices are very reasonable and relatively easy to fit into most lineups. For the Rangers, they have a few injuries right now which has mixed up their lines, but let’s take a look. Mika Zibanejad, Vladislav Namestnikov, and Ryan Spooner are on the first forward line along with all being on the first power-play unit. They also add Chris Kreider to that power-play along with Neal Pionk on defense. That is the ideal spot for stacking options in what should be a fast-paced high-scoring game.

Chicago Blackhawks at Carolina Hurricanes

The Blackhawks are struggling right now and have lost seven games in a row, which likely will continue tonight. They are on the road against the Hurricanes, who as I’ve said before, love, love to take tons of shots. The Hurricanes come in with the highest expected Corsi For on the slate sitting at 50.1, which should make them a popular option for cash games tonight. The Blackhawks have a 50.54 Corsi For over the past month, but only turning that into 2.38 goals per game. That should put Hurricanes goalie Scott Darling in a decent spot for GPPs since he will see tons of shots to rack up saves, but not in a ton of danger for goals. Don’t like him for cash games but his price on FanDuel tonight is great.

The Hurricanes have a number of forwards and defensemen to consider for lineups tonight, all of who see time on the power-play units. I’ll list some in no particular order: Sebastian Aho, Micheal Ferland, Teuvo Teravainen, Jordan Staal, Justin Williams, for the forwards and Dougie Hamilton, Justin Faulk and Jaccob Slavin for the defenders.

The Blackhawks players are still decently expensive and with their implied goal total sitting at 2.56, which is second highest on the slate, I only like them for GPPs. You can always take someone like Patrick Kane in cash games since he is taking over four shots per game, but I would stick with adding him to the power-play unit with Jonathan Toews, Alex DeBrincat and Brent Seabrook.

Columbus Blue Jackets at Dallas Stars

This game has the Blue Jackets coming in at -110 on the road but the Stars also at -110 at home. We are in for what should be a very close and potential high scoring game. Columbus has an implied goal total set at 2.93, while the Stars are at 3.07. Blue Jackets will have Sergei Bobrovsky in net, who has three wins in his last four games. While the Stars will have backup Anton Khudobin in net, who has three wins in his five games this season.

The Stars top line of Tyler Seguin, Jamie Benn, and Alexander Radulov will be back together tonight as Radulov is returning from IR. Love them as a power-play stack, but they are on the more expensive side of things, so you will need to find the savings elsewhere. Miro Heiskanen is the defender to add to that stack since he is on the first power-play with John Klingberg out with an injury. Heiskanen is still too cheap on FanDuel and should be a key salary saver tonight. Don’t really like going to the second power-play for the Stars since the quality drops off pretty quickly.

For Columbus, on I’m on board with really anyone from the first few offensive units, since they come in with an expected Corsi For set at 46.6, which is third highest on the slate, along with having an implied goal total at almost three. Artemi Panarin, Pierre-Luc Dubois, Cam Atkinson, Anthony Duclair, Boone Jenner, Alexander Wennberg, and Nick Foligno are the forwards who make up the power-play units, along with the first two forward lines. This should allow you to soak up most of their potential offense tonight.

Nashville Predators at Anaheim Ducks

This game clearly has the least bit of fantasy value on the slate, since it’s the only one with an over-under set at 5.5 and has the Ducks coming in as +135 home underdogs. That should tell you how bad the Ducks are, along with how good the Predators are as -155 road favorites. Nashville should have Pekka Rinne in net, who despite being on the road is a solid cash game play. He should face the least resistance to a win, since the Ducks have an expected Corsi For set at 42.9 which is lowest on the slate, along with an implied goal total set at 2.47, which is also lowest on the slate. John Gibson should be in net for the Ducks and is always a GPP option, due to all of the shots he could see, but will have a tough time coming away with the win. The Predators are a fine GPP option tonight, but with their players being somewhat expensive, I’d prefer to spend that on almost any other team on the slate, who simply have more upside. The Predators should win this game, but I don’t see them scoring four or five goals. For the Ducks, they are a GPP option only tonight and rostering them is simply doing it for the sake of being contrarian and expecting them to somehow score four or five goals, something they’ve only done twice this season.
