Los Angeles Chargers @ Los Angeles Rams

Rams: -7

Game Total: 48.0

Los Angeles Chargers:

  • We have the battle for Los Angeles this afternoon, in what should be a very high scoring game as we have an over-under approaching 50.

  • Philip Rivers has looked great in his first two games with three touchdowns in each one and averaging 350 yards per game. Piling up the yards and fantasy points for all owners.

  • We should be in for yet another shootout since the Chargers have 59 points scored through two games, but have allowed 58 points. Their defense is missing Joey Bosa in the pass rush, which is limited the pressure on the opposing QB.

  • Keenan Allen has six or more receptions in each of the first two games, but will face a very tough Rams defense, who comes in with the 1st DVOA vs the pass.

  • Melvin Gordon has been off to a hot start as well, with over 100 receiving yards in the first game, then three touchdowns in week 2.

  • The Chargers defense is where they are struggling, as they have the 21st DVOA vs the pass and the 20th DVOA vs the rush.

Los Angeles Rams

  • It seems the Rams are picking up right where they left off last season, with their offense rolling and their defense shutting everyone down.

  • They have only allowed 13 points through the first two games, with week two being a shutout vs the Cardinals. They have also scored over 30 points in each of the first two games.

  • Todd Gurley is going for a second straight MVP, with four touchdowns so far, while averaging over 100 total yards per game. He gets it done in the red zone and has plenty of upside in the passing game.

  • Jared Goff is leading this offense up and down the field nearly every drive, with his 293 yards per game, with a nearly 65% completion rate. Has an easier matchup vs a watered down Chargers defense.

  • The Rams have a three-headed monster at wide receiver with, Brandin Cooks , Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods , who can all seemingly put over 100 yards or get into the end zone every game.

Pre-Game Props:

-The last non-kneeling, offensive play of the 1st Quarter is a running play (We’ll leave this open until the 2:00 mark) 2.3/2.6

I’m going with NO on this one. Feel the offenses will be pass based in the first half and see who jumps out to the early lead.

-The first offensive play of the game is a running play that gains 3 or more yards 2.6/2.3

I’m sticking with the game being centered on the passing game, so have to go with NO here.

-J. Goff (LAR) completes more passes than P. Rivers (LAC) in the 1st Quarter 2.5/2.5

This falls in line with the first two and as I mentioned above, the Chargers have the 21st DVOA vs the pass, which is not good.

-Either team records 2 or more sacks in the 1st Quarter 4.2/1.6

If you want to take YES on this, it really has to come from the Rams side of things, since I mentioned that the Chargers are without Joey Bosa , their top pass rusher.

-K. Allen (LAC) records 1 or more receptions on LAC opening drive 2.3/2.9

Big time YES on this one. He is their top receiver and bringing in over six receptions per game so far.

-T. Gurley (LAR) rushes for a 1st Down on LAR opening drive 2.2/3.3

I’m split on this one. Gurley has high offense market share, but he could also get the first down through the air. You could say YES on this one, in a way to slightly hedge against the earlier ones which are passing game centered.
