Cheap plays were awfully hard to find on Tuesday’s slate, and the ones we took a chance on turned out poorly. There are several cheap plays Wednesday, but all of them are a bit risky. I think you pretty much have to take a chance on a few of them for GPPs, but you can probably make a more balanced lineup work for cash.

The thing that sticks out about this slate is that almost all of the cheap plays are at guard. I like most of the expensive guards on the slate, but its awfully hard to get to them. If you can find more than one cheap forward you don’t hate, you could have a big advantage if that play pays off.

As always, the lineups below are examples of lineups you can make using the players in the Playbook and are not for plug and play.

Guards

Courtney WilliamsATLWAS950024.75590023.46
Williams has played at least 33 minutes and scored at least 29.5 fantasy points in each of her last two games. She may never be particularly efficient, but she appears to be safe for fantasy now that she is starting and playing her full complement of minutes.
Diana TaurasiPHOLA940034.66720034.08
Taurasi picked up right where she left off before her back injury, with 36.75 fantasy points in 28 minutes despite 3-10 shooting. The shooting will presumably come, but it's nice to see the minutes, rebounds and assists all returned right away.
Ariel AtkinsWASATL870023.92510023.35
Atkins has been streaky this season, and while that makes it difficult to trust her, I am inclined to try to ride her current hot streak. It doesn't hurt that Atlanta gives up the most fantasy points to guards and she is very cheap on FD.
Allisha GrayDALMIN850020.7640020.31
Gray has a tough matchup against Minnesota, but she is still pretty cheap for someone who has played at least 30 minutes, taken at least 14 shots and scored at least 27 fantasy points in both games with Satou Sabally and Moriah Jefferson out.
Marina MabreyDALMIN670012.86400011.16
Basically, everything I wrote about Allisha Gray applies to Mabrey, except Mabrey is cheaper. Mabrey has at least 27 minutes and 29 fantasy points in both games Satou Sabally has missed.

Stella JohnsonWASATL40004.9234005.12
Johnson played 20 minutes and scored 21 fantasy points against Las Vegas Saturday. She should play similar minutes Wednesday with Essence Carson gone, and she could play even more if Kiara Leslie is out again. Atlanta allows more fantasy points to opposing guards than anyone this season.
Blake DietrickATLWAS750014.14480013.49
Dietrick played 30 minutes for the third consecutive game Sunday, but she only shot 3-9 from the field and finished with 17.5 fantasy points. She had at least 30 fantasy points in each of her two previous games, and she'll be a fine GPP play if she can get back to that level of production.
Bridget CarletonMINDAL610013.1540012.82
Carleton is averaging 32.3 minutes and 23 fantasy points in the four games Sylvia Fowles has missed. If Dallas is going to stick to their three-guard lineup with Satou Sabally out, Carleton's ceiling is huge. I don't know why she is so cheap on DraftKings.

Brittney GrinerPHOLA1140035.73800036.21
Griner has at least 37 fantasy points in five of her last six games, including 50+ fantasy points in two of those. I think her floor is higher with Diana Taurasi back, and we know her ceiling is high.
Nneka OgwumikeLAPHO860021.72630021.39
Derek Fisher has gone back to playing his starters 20-25 minutes per game, which in Ogwumike's case is a good thing. She's not an MVP candidate anymore, but she is averaging 21.0 fppg over her last four games, which is fine at her price.
Napheesa CollierMINDAL1100035.05780034.45
Collier struggled in the first couple of games Sylvia Fowles missed, but she has 104.75 fantasy points in her last two games. No team going Wednesday has allowed more fantasy points to opposing forwards than Dallas this season.
Tianna HawkinsWASATL800017.29480016.84
Hawkins has scored at least 24.75 fantasy points in three of her last four games.
Damiris DantasMINDAL830023.42570023.22
Like Collier, Dantas had been better when Fowles had played. Dantas too has been better lately, with at least 25 fantasy points in three of her last four games.
