Once again, we have big injury news in the WNBA, and for Friday’s DFS slate, it mostly centers around Dallas. Satou Sabally and Moriah Jefferson have been ruled out, and Tyasha Harris is questionable. If Harris is out, that will leave the lion’s share of the guard minutes for Arike Ogunbowale and Allisha Gray. Marina Mabrey would likely back up both guard positions.

The picture at forward is more murky where Isabelle Harrison, Kayla Thornton, Astou Ndour, Katie Lou Samuelson and Bella Alarie could all get more minutes. I liked Harrison for cash and Thornton for GPPs even before this news, so I’m sticking with those plays. Whoever starts at the three will be a punt play, but there’s no guarantee that player would see 20+ minutes.

As always, the lineups below are examples of lineups you can make using the players in the Playbook and are not for plug and play.

Guards

Courtney WilliamsATLPHO910022.18530020.87
Williams shot 23.5 percent from the field Wednesday but still managed 21.25 fantasy points. She might not be too efficent without Chennedy Carter to share the offensive load, but it was encouraging to see her set new season highs in minutes and field goal attempts.
Skylar Diggins-SmithPHOATL970028.81690028.03
Diggins-Smith was slightly disappointing Wednesday, but she is averaging 35.9 fantasy points with Diana Taurasi out.
Kaila CharlesCONCHI580010.19400011.04
Charles fouls too much, and she may never carry the offensive load for Connecticut, but she is averaging 26.3 minutes and 18.75 fantasy points in three games since joining the starting lineup. Connecticut continues to win, so Charles should continue to start.
Blake DietrickATLPHO620011.78400010.79
Dietrick played all 40 minutes Wednesday, and while that isn't repeatable, I think the 30 fantasy points she put up are. She was very solid early in the season when Courtney Williams was out, and it looks like we can expect the same until Chennedy Carter returns.
Arike OgunbowaleDALSEA990029.78740029.73
Satou Sabally and Moriah Jefferson are out, and Tyasha Harris is questionable. We could see a return of the Arike we saw at the end of 2019, when she averaged 42 fantasy points in September.
PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Allisha GrayDALSEA680018.25550017.84
Gray is averaging a career-high 0.97 fantasy points per minute, and she could play a ton of minutes if Tyasha Harris misses this game. Gray is already a consideration for cash games with Moriah Jefferson ruled out

Breanna StewartSEADAL1160040.61820040.71
Stewart was better when Sue Bird was out, and her price is probably a bit high now that Bird is back. That being said, she is still ridiculously good, and with foward being so shallow, I am happy to simply lock in Stewart, even if I have to overpay a bit to do it.
Alyssa ThomasCONCHI1040036.53720035.77
I don't trust Brittney Griner, especially with Diana Taurasi out, so Thomas is easily the top forward of the slate after Breanna Stewart. Thomas has at least 32 fantasy points in seven of her nine games this season.
Alysha ClarkSEADAL840024.31610025.12
Clark's consistency is really remarkable, having scored at least 25 fantasy points in five straight games. Her ceiling isn't very high, but her floor is.
Isabelle HarrisonDALSEA700015.53510015.68
Harrison struggled at the beginning of August, presumably due to an injury suffered against Indiana, but she has bounced back of late. Harrison is averaging 25.5 minutes and 20.75 fantasy points over her last four games. I'll gladly take that at her price, and she should be even safer with Satou Sabally out.
Kayla ThorntonDALSEA630015.47480015.29
Thornton has been up-and-down all season, but I think she has the best chance at a big game with Satou Sabally out. Someone is going to have to take the shots Sabally had been getting, and if they go to Thornton, she could easily top 30 fantasy points for the first time this season.
PlayerTeamOpp.DK $DK FPPGFD $FD FPPG
Astou NdourDALSEA46009.0737009.16
Whoever starts for Satou Sabally will be in play, but I'm hoping it will be Ndour. She is averaging 0.80 fantasy points per minute this season, and I think we could finally see her top 20 minutes if she starts.
