I’m kind of surprised it took me until Sunday to realize how bad the guards are in this slate. I think it was easier earlier in the week because the New York and Minnesota backcourts were dealing with injuries and we had some solid value plays. Now, Lexie Brown is the most expensive guard on both sites, which is a sentence I could not have possibly anticipated I would write at the start of the week.

While Brown is worth a shot in GPPs to see if she can continue to stuff the stat sheet, but with one other exception, I think you’re better off saving money there, since most of the players are just okay anyway.

Guards

Jackie YoungLVNY650014.08470013.17
Young was aggressive off the dribble against Los Angeles, sometimes too aggressive. Her athleticism has never been a question, and if she continues to attack the paint and look for her own shot, she could easily top 20 fantasy points for the second straight game.
Seimone AugustusLAMIN530015.25420015.48
I'm like Charlie Brown with the football when it comes to revenge games. I swear I know better, but then one comes along that is so obvious I cannot pass it up. Seimone Augustus was reportedly insulted by Minnesota's offer to her in the offseason, and I have no doubt in my mind she wants to prove they made a mistake. It appears she sat out Friday so she would be fresh for this game. That being said, we thought Liz Cambage would crush Dallas in her revenge game last year and it was quite disappointing. It would be a mistake to consider Seimone a sure thing for fantasy.
Sydney WieseLAMIN550010.6740009.82
Wiese has started the last two games, playing 28 minutes and averaging 18.9 fantasy points. I don't think her ceiling is particularly high, but she is a solid player who is pretty cheap.
Kia NurseNYLV680014.75520014.00
It's sad when going 4-for-11 from the field is considered a good shooting night, but that's what happens when you shoot under 20 percent in three consecutive games. Nurse had eight free throw attempts for the second time in three games, and she's cheap enough that you'll be okay if she keeps shooting the ball poorly.
Chelsea GrayLAMIN850026.04560026.10
If I pay up for a guard Sunday, Gray is the obvious choice. She has at least 28 fantasy points in three of her last four games despite shooting 38.3 percent from the field and 15.4 percent on threes during that span. We still haven't seen the high ceiling she displayed last season, but I am convinced it still exists.

MItchell scored 15 fantasy points Friday despite going 0-5 from the field. She is a solid cash play in a weak slate for guards.

Marie GulichLAMIN710016.75460018.30
Gulich has thoroughly outplayed Kristine Anigwe, and she is a safe DFS play so long as Nneka Ogwumike is out.
Sylvia FowlesMINLA990037.85750038.50
Only two teams have allowed more opponents' rebounds than the Sparks. If Nneka Ogwumike is out, it's hard to see how L.A. can slow Syl down.
Tianna HawkinsWASIND49007.544007.73
I loved Hawkins before she hurt her back and Myisha Hines-Allen had the breakout we were forecasting for Hawkins. Hawkins could get a second chance if Aerial Powers is out, though I'll feel better about Hawkins if she starts. Hawkins isn't going to shoot 23.1 percent from the field for long, and she could be a value play even if Powers is able to go.
Candace ParkerLAMIN1150037.67730037.32
The best part of the 2020 WNBA season has been seeing Candace Parker and Diana Taurasi bounce back after they did not look like themselves in 2019. After playing Parker only 20 minutes in the first game of the season, Sparks head coach Derek Fisher has let Parker cook. She has at least 36 FD fantasy points in five straight games since then, including four straight double-doubles.
Teaira McCowanINDWAS900021.96550021.63
McCowan played a season-high 32 minutes Friday and scored 35 fantasy points despite shooting 38.5 percent from the field. I'm still not ready to trust her, but it doesn't hurt that her price dropped after that performance.

A'ja WilsonLVNY1120038.62780038.15
Wilson has scored at least 32 fantasy points in every game this season. The Liberty are allowing the second-most rebounds and third-most points in the league.
Amanda Zahui BNYLV880027.29590026.68
She has played at least 23 minutes and scored at least 27 fantasy points in three straight games. Zahui B's field goal percentage is still her lowest since her rookie season, so I think it is reasonable to expect her to get even better.
Myisha Hines-AllenWASIND1030034.46700033.75
I think she is better if Aerial Powers is out, but she is a solid cash play regardless.
