The prices for both sites are largely unchanged from the first game of the season, so a lot of the players who outperformed their prices in the opener are still value plays Tuesday. The problem, especially for GPPs, is that those players will be highly owned. As someone commented to me on Twitter, everyone is going to play Myisha Hines-Allen now. Its up to us to find some differentials, especially for GPPs.
One way in which I suspect I’ll be different from most is by mostly fading the Minnesota/Seattle game. The biggest reason to fade these teams is that I think they are probably the two best defensive teams in the league. I’m tempted to pay Sylvia Fowles at her price, but I don’t think it’s a coincidence she averaged fewer points against Seattle than against any other team last season. I expect Napheesa Collier and Lexie Brown to bounce back to some degree, but it won’t be easy against a team that can throw so many good defenders at them.
On the other side, Seattle’s depth it a problem for anyone trying to find DFS value. Breanna Stewart and Sue Bird are the only ones I really trust, and in Bird’s case, it’s mostly about her DK price. Until their prices go down or they get a matchup that is too good to ignore, I won’t be in a hurry to play anyone from Seattle.

Chelsea Gray | LA | CHI | 8600 | 27.75 | 6600 | 28.70
The Aces got a ton of easy baskets against the Sky Sunday, and I expect more of the same Tuesday. Gray averaged 32.6 fppg against the Sky last season. The only team she did better against was the Liberty.
Leilani Mitchell | WAS | CON | 7500 | 17 | 5300 | 16.80
Mitchell had the lowest usage on the team Saturday, but I don't think there is any way that continues for long. Connecticut should do a much better job of stopping Myisha Hines-Allen than Indiana did, and I think Mitchell will look to playmake more as a result.
Riquna Williams | LA | CHI | 6700 | 18 | 4700 | 19.90
I love this matchup for L.A., and Williams is the cheapest Sparks player I trust to take advantage. She had 28.1 fantasy points in her only game against Chicago last season, and I think she is more likely to be heavily involved in the offense than Brittney Sykes or Tierra Ruffin-Pratt.
Courtney Vandersloot | CHI | LA | 10200 | 31 | 7200 | 29.30
Vandersloot's floor is awfully high, especially while Diamond DeShields is limited. She had 31 fantasy points Sunday despite only shooting 3-9 from the field, which won't happen very often.
Karima Christmas-Kelly | MIN | SEA | 4200 | 21.25 | 3000 | 23.50
She scored 23.5 FD fantasy points in 19 minutes Sunday, and while that's probably about what her ceiling is, that's fine while she's mid-priced.
Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG
Sue Bird | SEA | MIN | 4600 | 24.5 | 5800 | 23.90
I still don't get why she is so cheap on DK. I trist her to score 20+ fantasy points more than most of the players who cost more than her.
Jasmine Thomas | CON | WAS | 7800 | 14.75 | 5800 | 13.60
Thomas managed 14.8 fantasy points Saturday despite shooting 1-10 from the field. I like her to bounce back either way, but she might have to take 20 shots if DeWanna Bonner is out. Either way, she is better in GPPs than cash. |

Azura Stevens | CHI | LA | 4600 | 17.75 | 3800 | 16.60
I feel like anyone who watched the Sky Sunday will have Stevens in some lineups, and anyone who just looked at the box score will fade her. She was Chicago's best player in the first half, but foul trouble limited her in the second half. I love that she is starting, and her shooting gives her an awfully high ceiling for her price.
Emma Meesseman | WAS | CON | 11000 | 24.75 | 6300 | 23.50
Meesseman is only $300 more than Myisha Hines-Allen on FD, where she is clearly the better play. I like Hines-Allen as well, especially on DK, but I think we've already seen her best game of the season. Meesseman was ninth in the WNBA in fantasy points per minute last season, and barring another blowout, she will almost certainly play more minutes than she did Saturday.
Nneka Ogwumike | LA | CHI | 9700 | 35.25 | 7300 | 34.40
Only the Liberty allowed more points than Chicago last season, and based on Sunday's game, it doesn't look like much has changed. Nneka was an MVP in this league for a reason, and she is one of the safest players on the slate.
Alyssa Thomas | CON | WAS | 10100 | 43 | 7600 | 45.60
Thomas was great in the first game of the season, and Connecticut is going to need that kind of production most nights, especially if DeWanna Bonner is out. Washington is awfully thin up front, and I expect Thomas to take advantage.
Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis | CON | WAS | 4000 | 6 | 3700 | 5.90
She is really the stand-in for whoever starts for DeWanna Bonner. My preference would probably be to see Theresa Plaisance, but we don't know if she is healthy, either. Whoever gets the start should be cheap land capable of having a solid game, like ike Mosqueda-Lewis.
Player | Team | Opp. | DK $ | DK FPPG | FD $ | FD FPPG
Brionna Jones | CON | WAS | 4300 | 24.25 | 3800 | 26.00
Jones's numbers against Minnesota speak for themselves. She didn't do anything great, but she was solid across the board in 29 minutes. If DeWanna Bonner and Theresa Plaisance are both available for this game, I will probably pivot to Azura Stevens. That being said, Jones is much safer than Stevens if one of Bonner or Plaisance are out. |
