We’re almost at the end of the bye weeks, which means some low-ceiling WR3s are nearing the end of their usefulness. It’s nice to have high-target possession receivers when you’re dealing with injuries and bye weeks, but pretty soon, the smart move will be to target handcuffs at other positions as well as high-upside receivers who we could be excited to start with a little extra work.

  • DeVante Parker didn’t exactly light the world on fire in Week 10, but he did catch five of 10 targets for 69 yards. It was his fourth straight game with at least four receptions and 55 yards, and his sixth straight with at least 11.8 fantasy points. Is it possible Parker is actually safe for fantasy with Preston Williams out?

  • Ronald Jones II caught all eight of his targets in Week 10, giving him at least 19 touches for the second consecutive week. The Bucs converted a handful of third-and-longs with designed passes to Jones, but you’d have to think competent defenses can stop those plays, especially after watching the Week 10 film. We probably shouldn’t count on that kind of production in the passing game from Jones most weeks.

  • Davante Adams is back, after catching seven of 10 targets for 118 yards Sunday. It was a welcome improvement after he caught seven of 11 targets for 41 yards Week 9 in his first game back from his toe injury.

  • Is it time to start taking Darius Slay ton seriously for fantasy? He scored two touchdowns for the second time in three weeks, but more importantly, he had 10 catches on 14 targets. Slayton entered Week 10 with 17 receptions on 31 targets in seven games. Evan Engram and Sterling Shepard both missed this game with injuries, and if they can play coming out of the Giants’ Week 11 bye, there is a pretty good chance Slayton turns into a pumpkin. The Giants face the Bears, Packers and Eagles coming out of the bye, so Slayton probably belongs on waivers in most leagues.

  •  The Browns forced the ball to Odell Beckham Jr. against Buffalo in Week 10, as many predicted, but his season-high 12 targets resulted in his third straight game with five receptions. Cleveland’s remaining schedule is not at all scary, and if the Browns continue to target OBJ, he should have much better days ahead. This is probably your last chance to buy low.

  • Gerald Everett led the Rams in targets and receptions Sunday, and while he’s a pretty good tight end, that illustrates how broken the Rams’ offense is right now. Todd Gurley and Cooper Kupp were both shut out on four targets a piece, and that will almost certainly never happen again. Everett has played his way into starting tight end consideration even if/when Brandin Cooks returns from his concussion, and with a matchup against Arizona looming in Week 13, I’d try to hold onto him if I added him for Week 10.

  • As for Kupp, he is going to be difficult to rank going forward. Would it be an overreaction to have him as a WR2 Week 11 against the Bears? I don’t think so, though I would have to think the Rams will make a concerted effort to get him more involved.

  • Allen Robinson bounced back from his worst game of the season to catch six of nine targets for 86 yards against the Lions in Week 10. I think he’s a risky WR3 at the Rams in Week 11, but after that, I think I will be inclined to trust him in most matchups. It’s tantalizing to think about how good he could be for fantasy if he ever had even an average NFL quarterback, but we are probably at least two years away from that happening.

  • I think Marquise Brown has to be considered a risky WR3 for the time being after he was held to just four targets for the second consecutive game, but my guess is he will be better than that now that he is starting to look healthy. Brown caught all four of his targets, and I’m confident he would have had more passes thrown his way if Cincinnati had managed to keep the game even remotely close. I’ll probably be looking for an excuse to start Brown most weeks.

  • I know a lot of fantasy analysts have spent the last 10 months trying to make Chris Herndon a thing, but it seems pretty clear that we aren’t even close to that point right now. Demaryius Thomas led the Jets with nine targets, while Herndon had two and Robby Anderson had three. Herndon could easily catch two touchdowns next week because that’s the nature of the position, but he shouldn’t be rostered outside of dynasty leagues. I’d also look to sell high on Jamison Crowder after he had had 80 receiving yards and a touchdown for the second consecutive week. He’s fine for PPR leagues, but he’s not going to make big plays and he’s topped three touchdowns once in his five NFL seasons.

  • Greg Olsen had his best week since Week 2, catching eight of 10 targets for 98 yards. It is doubtful he’ll ever get to the point where we trust him as a fantasy starter, but he is at least in the mix.

  • Randall Cobb has caught six of eight targets in each of his last two games, going for 106 yards and a touchdown in Week 10 and 35 yards in Week 9. You’re probably better off looking for fantasy production in places other than Dallas’s third wide receiver, but Cobb has looked pretty good, and it looks like he has significant weekly upside.

  • Kareem Hunt caught seven of nine targets in his first game back from his suspension, and while he only tallied 44 yards, these were not all dump-offs. Four of Hunt’s receptions came when he was on the field with Nick Chubb , either in the backfield or lined up in the slot. I think there is a chance Hunt and Chubb are in a full timeshare as soon as Thursday Night, but at the very least, Hunt appears to be a flex consideration if he is going to get so much use in the passing game.
