DFS WNBA Playbook & Optimal Lineups: July 10
Steve Pimental provides the best DFS plays and optimal lineups for Tuesday's three-game WNBA slate.
Sometimes, as I am putting together my WNBA DFS lineups, I worry that my FanDuel and DraftKings lineups are too similar. That should be less of a concern Tuesday. We have three WNBA games on the schedule, with the Seattle Storm hosting the Los Angeles Sparks at 3:00 PM ET, followed by two games in the evening. While DraftKings is offering a three-game slate, FanDuel is only offering a slate with the two night games. If you want to play anyone from LA or Seattle you have to play a single-game contest. We will proceed with our playbook and optimal lineups as usual, just keep in mind that if you want to play Jewell Loyd in a classic lineup, it has to be on DraftKings.
One thing I did not anticipate was how difficult it would be to find forwards I like for cash games. There are a lot of safe, mid-priced guards who didn’t make my playbook or my lineups because playing them would have meant leaving a lot of money on the table or playing expensive forwards in difficult matchups. That being said, if you like Liz Cambage or Nneka Ogwumike more than I do, go ahead and play them, since I think you can get by with just about all of the cheaper guards for cash games.
|Player||FanDuel Price||DraftKings Price||Comments|
|A'ja Wilson, F, LV||$ 8,500||$ 13,200||Wilson is my top GPP play of the day, especially on FanDuel. Wilson has at least 20 field goal attempts in three of her last four games, and since the Aces won all three of those games and lost the other, I expect her to shoot early and often again Tuesday.|
|Candace Parker, F, LA||$ 11,500||Seattle has a below average defensive rating, and Parker is a bounce-back candidate after she scored just six points against Washington Saturday.|
|DeWanna Bonner, G, PHO||$ 7,400||$ 10,200||DeWanna Bonner appears to have regained her cash game status with Sancho Lyttle out. Bonner has played at least 35 minutes and taken at least 11 shots in each of her last three games, but her price remains about the same.|
|Courtney Vandersloot, G, CHI||$ 7,800||$ 9,800||Courtney Vandersloot's ceiling may not be as high as someone like Skylar Diggins-Smith or even Diana Taurasi, but Slooty has been more consistent lately. Vandersloot has scored at least 31.25 fantasy points on DraftKings in each of her last seven games.|
|Jewell Loyd, G, SEA||$ 8,300||Loyd's assists will likely remain low whenever Sue Bird plays, but she is more than capable of scoring 20 points on any given day.|
|Stefanie Dolson, F, CHI||$ 5,600||$ 8,200||Dolson is shooting 33 percent over her last four games, but she is a 42.4 percent shooter on the season. Her upside is enormous, especially against an Aces team that has allowed the second most fantasy points to forwards this season.|
|Kayla Thornton, F, DAL||$ 5,000||$ 6,600||It is a safe bet that one of Kayla Thornton, Azura Stevens or Glory Johnson is going to step up in this game, and I don't trust Stevens to keep shooting 60 percent like she has been. I don't trust any of the three, but Thornton is a GPP play.|
|Kelsey Plum, G, LV||$ 4,900||$ 6,000||It is nice to see Moriah Jefferson's increased playing time has not come at the expense of Kelsey Plum, as it did last season. Plum is averaging 10.8 points, 3.5 rebounds and 5.8 assists over her last four games.|
|Allisha Gray, G, DAL||$ 4,200||$ 5,800||Allisha Gray doesn't stand out in any one area, but she contributes a little bit across the board. She is averaging 11.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists over her last four games, and she is a safe, cheap cash play.|
|Yvonne Turner, G, PHO||$ 4,400||$ 5,300||Turner played just 16 minutes Sunday after averaging 26.6 minutes over her three previous games. I'm not sure how much of that was due to Camille Little's return and how much was due to her 1-5 shooting, but her upside is undeniable, and her price is still reasonable.|
|Angel Robinson, F, PHO||$ 3,100||$ 4,300||Robinson has played at least 20 minutes and grabbed at least eight rebounds in each of her last two games, even after Camille Little's return. She is slightly more expensive than Little on DraftKings, but she should be safer.|
|Moriah Jefferson, G, LV||$ 3,500||$ 3,500||Jefferson had nine points and five assists in 17 minutes Saturday, and if she can just repeat those number, she will be worth her price.|
|Camille Little, F, PHO||$ 3,300||$ 3,500||Little had five points, two rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a steal in 21 minutes in her first game back from an ankle injury Sunday. Similar production Tuesday would be plenty considering her price.|
