As anyone who plays NBA DFS can tell you, one of the most important considerations in any given slate is how much rest a particular team or player has gotten coming into a slate. That is often less of a concern for WNBA games. Occasionally a team will give a veteran like Sue Bird a night off, and I certainly prefer older players when they have had a few days off coming into a game, but the nature of the schedule is that teams almost always have at least one day off between games. That isn’t the case Wednesday.

The Connecticut Sun and Dallas Wings both play on the second of a back-to-back and their third game in four days Wednesday. They both play teams who will come in on two days’ rest, and the Wings are on the road. Under normal circumstances, I would consider the Sun and Wings average matchups at best, and their opponents—the Fever and Aces respectively—very strong matchups. When you factor in the rest, however, I will mostly fade the Sun and Wings while I expect to have more exposure than usual to the Aces and Fever.

In another quirk of Wednesday’s schedule, we have one early game at 12:00 PM ET and two late games. Due to the split nature of the slate, we will not offer optimal lineups. We do, however, have plenty of players to recommend if you wish you play one of the one-game contests or construct your own lineup for the night games.

Player FanDuel Price  DraftKings Price Comments
Courtney Vandersloot, G, CHI $    9,500 $     14,700Slooty had her first double-double of the season Sunday, and now that Stefanie Dolson is back, she has that kind of upside every time out.
Stefanie Dolson, F, CHI $    7,000 $        8,200I blame Stefanie Dolson's underwhelming numbers this season on her injury and Courtney Vandersloot's absence. Dolson averaged 14.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game last season, and the Dream are still allowing the most rebounds to opponents this season.
Kayla McBride, G, LV $    6,000 $        9,200McBride has been remarkably consistent this season, and her price has finally risen to reflect it. She has scored at least 16 points in eight consecutive games, and she should make it nine straight Wednesday.
A'ja Wilson, F, LV $    8,500 $     11,800Wilson predictably came back down to earth against the Lynx Sunday after she came into that contest with at least 20 points, 11 rebounds and four assists in each of her last three games. Wilson is more of a GPP play, especially since she had just 14 points and three rebounds against Dallas a couple of weeks ago.
Tamera Young, G, LV $    5,100 $        6,800Young has been nearly as consistent as Kayla McBride, though her last two games have been a bit underwhelming. Even so, Young has at least 10 field goal attempts in six consecutive games.
Candice Dupree, F, IND $    6,400 $        8,200Dupree has had at least 15 points and seven rebounds in each of her last two games. In the two games before that she combined for 10 points and eight rebounds. She may never be completely safe, but I like her chances against a tired Connecticut team.
Kelsey Mitchell, G, IND $    4,800 $        7,700The bounce-back shooting game I predicted for Kelsey Mitchell Sunday didn't come to fruition, as she shot 4-17 against the Sun. She is now shooting 27.5 percent over her last three games, and that can't last much longer.
Azura Stevens, F, DAL $    4,500 $        4,800Azura Stevens has played at least 23 minutes in each of her three games since joining the starting lineup. She is averaging 21.4 fantasy points on DraftKings over that span.
Kelsey Plum, G, LV $    4,700 $        5,500Plum is coming off arguably her best game of the season Sunday, when she set season highs with 15 points in 32 minutes to go along with five assists. Plum has been consistently inconsistent in her WNBA career, but she has a favorable matchup in a short slate.
Skylar Diggins-Smith, G, DAL $    7,700 $     12,100Skylar Diggins-Smith had 20 points, three rebounds and six assists against the Aces two weeks ago despite shooting 6-20. She should be able to get into the paint at will against the Aces guards.
Angel McCoughtry, F, ATL $  11,000 $     17,400In the two games Tiffany Hayes has missed, Angel McCoughtry has taken at least 19 shots and scored at least 25 points. McCoughtry should be safe so long as Hayes is out.
Brittney Sykes, G, ATL $    5,500 $        5,600She had 13 points (3-11 FG), four rebounds and four assists in 26 minutes in her first game back from a foot injury Friday. Sykes is a strong fantasy play with Tiffany Hayes out again.
