On Thursday I noted the difficulty in identifying punt plays for WNBA contests, and that is the case with Sunday’s slate as well. The one notable exception is the Indiana Fever. With Candice Dupree out, the Fever have a number of cheap players who have a good chance to get a lot of shots up. Even if they shoot poorly, as they did Friday, they should get enough volume to be worthwhile for cash games. Of course, they could always shoot better, in which case they have plenty of GPP upside as well.

Those cheap plays are especially important for this slate because we have three expensive forwards with excellent matchups who we should try to play as much as possible. The Aces, Sky and Fever have allowed the most points in the WNBA this season, and all three are facing at least one outstanding forward. I will have more on them below, but since they are priced slightly differently on FanDuel and DraftKings, my general strategy will be to play whichever ones are cheapest on my site of choice.

Player FanDuel Price  DraftKings Price Comments
Tina Charles, F, NY $  8,000 $     13,200The Fever have allowed the third most points and rebounds in the WNBA this season. Tina Charles had 23 points and 10 rebounds against them last week despite shooting 9-22 from the field.
Brittney Griner, F, PHO $  8,300 $     12,600No team has allowed more points than the Aces this season, and only the Atlanta Dream have allowed more rebounds. Brittney Griner has at least 17 points and one block in eight consecutive games.
Nneka Ogwumike, F, LA $  7,800 $     11,100The Sky can match up pretty well with Candace Parker and Chelsea Gray with rookies Gabby Williams and Diamond DeShields. I am less confident they can slow down Nneka Ogwumike, especially if Stefanie Dolson remains out.
DeWanna Bonner, G, PHO $  6,400 $     10,200The Aces have given up the fourth most steals in the WNBA, and DeWanna Bonner is sixth in the league in steals. Bonner has at least 13 points, two rebounds, three assists and a steal in five consecutive games.
Kelsey Mitchell, G, IND $  5,800 $        8,900Mitchell had 26 points and four assists on 8-22 shooting Friday with Candice Dupree out. Even if she isn't efficient, Mitchell should get up a ton of shots, and there is a decent chance she shoots better in this game.
Natasha Howard, F, SEA $  6,600 $        8,600No team has allowed more rebounds than the Dream this season, and Natasha Howard has at least 16 points and nine rebounds in each of her last two games.
Kia Nurse, G, NY $  5,000 $        8,000Kia Nurse had 34 points, nine rebounds and four assists in her last game against Indiana, and while she may not every match that feat, the Fever don't have anyone to match up with her size and athleticism. Nurse came off the bench in that game, and she has played at least 20 minutes in every game this season, so she is a GPP play even if she doesn't start.
Cheyenne Parker, F, CHI $  4,600 $        7,700Cheyenne Parker has played at least 20 minutes in each of her last four games, but she could play significantly more than that if Chicago can keep this game close. She had 20 points and 13 rebounds against the Aces a week ago, and while that will probably wind up being her best game of the season, it is nice to know she has that kind of ceiling.
Shavonte Zellous, G, NY $  5,400 $        6,500Zellous struggled against Phoenix on Tuesday, but other than that game, she has been great the last two weeks. Zellous has played at least 30 minutes with at least 13 points, three rebounds and two assists in three of her last four games.
Tiffany Mitchell, G, IND $  5,400 $        6,300Think of her as a poor man's Kelsey Mitchell. Tiffany Mitchell was third on the Fever in minutes (32:04) and second in points (12) and field goal attempts (14) Friday. That game probably represents her floor for as long as Candice Dupree is out.
Alana Beard, G, LA $  3,500 $        4,600No team has allowed more opponent's steals than the Sky, and Beard led the league in steals last season. If the Sky ignore her on defense, as teams have been doing lately, I think Beard will be able to cut to the paint for some easy baskets.
Erica McCall, F, IND $  3,400 $        4,500McCall was the primary beneficiary of her sister-in-law Candice Dupree's absence Friday, as she got her first start of the season and set new career highs with 11 rebounds and 13 field goal attempts in 32 minutes played. If we get similar numbers in this game, she is a steal.
Victoria Vivians, G, IND $  3,900 $        4,200Like her teammates mentioned above, Vivians struggled from the field (2-9) Friday but still played 30 minutes. Vivians had five rebounds and four assists to go with seven points, and she is bound to turn things around after going 3-17 from the field and 1-11 on threes in her last two games.
