There are a lot of strong pitchers I like Wednesday, which means your stacks will probably have to save some money. If you want to pay up, I obviously have some stacks for you, but the best value could lie in stacking some cheap lineups against suspect pitchers. Fortunately, there are a good amount of those in Wednesday’s slate as well.

Washington Nationals @ Matt Cain

Jayson Werth, Bryce Harper, Ryan Zimmerman, Matt Wieters

The four Nationals listed above all have an average exit velocity of 94.5 mph or better against Matt Cain. Michael Taylor has a 93.4 average exit velocity against Matt Cain, but in only three at-bats. Unless Taylor is moved up in the lineup, he isn’t a great play. Jose Lobaton, Adam Lind and Stephen Drew all could be strong plays if they start, but that doesn’t appear to be very likely.

Houston Astros @ Hector Santiago

Jake Marisnick, Jose Altuve, Evan Gattis, George Springer, Marwin Gonzalez, Alex Bregman, Carlos Beltran, Yulieski Gurriel

Among pitchers with at least 70 batted ball events, only Trevor Bauer has allowed a higher average exit velocity than Hector Santiago. Santiago has failed to record more than 16 outs in any of his last three starts, and only the Tigers and Rangers have worse bullpen ERAs than the Twins this season. The top of Houston’s order is rolling right now, but they are expensive. You could easily put together a cheaper stack with the middle to back end of the batting order.

Atlanta Braves @ Jesse Chavez

Nick Markakis, Rio Ruiz, Jace Peterson, Matt Kemp, Dansby Swanson

Jesse Chavez has allowed at least one home run in eight consecutive games. The players listed above probably represent the best values, though you could easily go with Ender Inciarte, Matt Adams or even Brandon Phillips, if he plays.

Los Angeles Angels vs. Jaime Garcia

Danny Espinosa, Cliff Pennington, Kole Calhoun, Albert Pujols, Eric Young Jr., Andrelton Simmons

The Angels’ lineup is pretty ugly, but there are opportunities for value. Danny Espinosa is 7-for-18 with a home run against Jaime Garcia. Eric Young Jr. led off with Cameron Maybin out Tuesday. Andrelton Simmons is in the midst of a 12-game hitting streak.
