Point Guard

Ty Lawson is still under $5,000 even though he’s scored over 28 DraftKings points in four straight games. He has a tough matchup against the Spurs, but with Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge already out for tonight, there could be one or two more players sitting. Either way, Lawson is a sneaky play today.

Cameron Payne could be looking at 25-plus minutes tonight if the Bulls’ players who are questionable end up sitting. He played fairly well in his last game as he scored 23 fantasy points in 22 minutes. Dwyane Wade, Jimmy Butler and Rondo are all GTDs for tonight, so this is a situation to keep a close eye on.

On average, Stephen Curry scores four fantasy points more per game at home compared to on the road. Kevin Durant is out and Steph should shoot the ball 25 times or so against the Celtics. His shot as been a bit off as of late, but expect him to find his shot sooner rather than later.

Giannis Antetokounmpo has shot exactly 13 shot attempts in six straight games. It’s obviously just an odd coincidence but it’s hard to pay $9.8k for a guy only shooting 13 times a game. Expect that to rise tonight against a Knicks team he’s had some beef with earlier in the year.

Shooting Guard

DeMar DeRozan is coming off a very disappointing performance where he scored just 19 fantasy points with Kyle Lowry on the shelf. He has a difficult matchup against the Pelicans who have been surprisingly stingy against SGs. DeRozan is a decent GPP option who should be fairly low owned.

Danny Green could see an extended workload against the Kings as two of his fellow star teammates have already been ruled out. He’s not going to get you 40, but Green is a relatively safe option due to the increased opportunity and solid matchup.

Eric Gordon hasn’t seen a minutes decrease since Lou Williams has come to town and he’s picked up his play over the last two games. He’s expected to earn the start tonight against a tough Utah defense, but he’s just $4,300. Give him a look in GPPs.

Dion Waiters may finally be over his ankle ailment as he exploded out of his slump for 29 actual points. The Hornets are in the bottom-10 in DvP against SGs so give Waiters a look, especially if the Heat are struggling with injuries tonight.

Small Forward

Gordon Hayward could be playing without both George Hill and Derrick Favors. Favors has already been ruled out for the game, but George Hill is questionable. Hayward has a very favorable matchup against the Rockets and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him explode for a 40-50 fantasy point game.

The Nuggets could be without Nikola Jokic AND Danilo Gallinari. Wilson Chandler annihilated the Kings for 64 fantasy points with Gallo playing, so if Gallo sits, Chandler enters potential must-play territory.

Otto Porter gets the best matchup of the night as the Nuggets have been the worst team against SFs by far. Porter has been extremely inconsistent as late and he’s still $6,400. He’s only a GPP option and tread carefully as he’s been burning owners more often than helping them as of late.

Kyle Anderson also has a favorable matchup against the Kings. Unfortunately, there are still a couple more Spurs players coming up in the article. It gets redundant, but nearly every Spurs player is in play now due to Kawhi and LMA’s absence. Anderson is far from a must-play, but he’s one of the best punts out there.

Power Forward

Paul Millsap is my favorite stud at the PF position despite the fact that it’s littered with expensive guys like AD, DeMarcus Cousins, and Karl-Anthony Towns. The Nets are terrible on defense and the only concern with Millsap is the blowout potential. I wouldn’t be too worried about that and Millsap should score 40-plus for the fifth game in a row.

Derrick Favors has already been ruled out and we just have to pray that the Jazz play Trey Lyles. Boris Diaw has been awful lately and it’s time to give Lyles some extended run. He has a solid opportunity ahead of him against the Rockets. He’s not the safest punt tonight, but he has more upside than most.

Aaron Gordon has been rolling without Nikola Vucevic on the floor and he’s out once again. Gordon has scored 30-plus fantasy points in three straight games and he gets to square up against defenseless Bobby Portis. He should scored 30-plus once again unless he faces foul trouble.

David Lee should enter the starting lineup and even if he doesn’t, he will still play 25 minutes or so. He’s just $3,700 so if he starts, he’s nearly a must-play guy in cash games. Keep an eye on the starting lineup, but if it doesn’t get released in time, don’t be afraid to pull the trigger on Lee..

Center

Rudy Gobert is one of, if not my top play of the night. If you’ve ever read any of my articles, you’d know I have a special place in my heart for Gobert. It’s easy to hold grudges against NBA players when they kill you in DFS and Gobert has done the exact opposite. He has a very favorable matchup against the Rockets and with Favors on the shelf, I don’t see how Gobert doesn’t hit or exceed value.

Bismack Biyombo is going to earn his third straight start and will also look to log his third-straight double-double. He’s $5,500 now, but that’s right about where he should be when he’s the starter. Chicago could get blown out of the water with all of the injuries they’re dealing with so that’s something to monitor.

Mason Plumlee is looking at logging another start if Nikola Jokic ends up sitting. Conflicting reports have came out of Denver this morning, so we may not know Jokic’s status until after lineups lock. This would make Plumlee an intriguing GPP play.

Cody Zeller is in play as a cash option as he has a favorable matchup against the Heat. However, I won’t be playing him if Frank Kaminsky returns to the lineup. If he sits, Zeller remains a high-floor player.

Last but not least, another Spurs player! Pau Gasol sees a 9 percent increase in his usage rate when LMA and Kawhi are out so it would be blasphemous to leave him out. He’s going to be the chalk, but even if Gasol comes off the bench he needs to be in a few of your lineups.
