Weather Issues

The only game at real risk is the Marlins/Braves game, but it looks like it should play. Pitchers a bit more risky than hitters.

What’s Happening

The Houston Astros have traded for Roberto Osuna for Ken Giles , David Paulino and Hector Perez. Osuna is still serving a suspension for off the field issues, but this is a major move for his fantasy value. He could become insanely valuable as the closer of the Astros, but there is no guarantee that he closes, especially not right away. Giles was in AAA for the Astros and could be an easy bet to close right away for the Blue Jays, a position that Houston no longer trusted him in. David Paulino is a former top prospect for the Astros that struggled with elbow issues and a PED suspension in 2017 and hasn’t pitched since May this year after experiencing a should issue. Hector Perez has a plus fastball and slider, but lacks the command right now to be a starter. The Blue Jays will likely gamble on the 21-year-old as a starter because the ceiling is that of a possible number two type arm if he can get the command under control.

The Mariners have traded Chase De Jong  and Ryan Costello to the Minnesota Twins for Zach Duke . Duke will likely pitch in a set up role for Seattle. Costello is a 22-year-old infielder having a power surge in A-ball this season. He has hit .266/.360/.468 with 16 home runs in 406 plate appearances. He should move quickly through the Twins system after being acquired in the 31st round of the draft by Seattle last year. The Mariners will also reportedly trade for Adam Warren from the Yankees, but at the time of writing, there was no return that had been reported.

According to Dan Connolly of the Athletic, Adam Jones  will likely not be traded this season. Jones has veto rights for any trade made and will not waive his 10-5 rights, so he will remain in Baltimore for the last year of his deal.

According to Jon Heyman, the Nationals are still trying to acquire catcher J.T. Realmuto . Realmuto would be a great addition for the Nationals and soon to be free agent Bryce Harper has been a vocal advocate of the move. The Nationals would have to part with Victor Robles or Carter Kieboom, but Washington appear ready to pay that price tag.

Kolby Allard will make his Major League debut for the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday. Allard is one of the Braves top pitching prospects. He not only has elite strikeout stuff but he possesses plus command and three average to above average pitches from the left side. Allard is worth streaming and possibly holding the rest of the way, if he is given a full time rotation spot.

According to Buster Olney of ESPN, the Mets will not likely trade Noah Syndergaard or Jacob deGrom . Multiple outlets have reported that it is much more likely the Mets move Zack Wheeler and the Phillies, Yankees, Brewers, and Braves have been named as the top locations for him.
