Today you can only watch the Royals and the Blue Jays game on Facebook. This is part of a deal MLB made with the social media giant. Let me just say how much I hate this. Aside from the fact that not everyone has facebook or not everyone like to watch things online, if you are profiling a game why the hell do you pick the Royals and the Blue Jays?!? I won’t be watching it because is a hassle and I encourage you to do the same.

Things That Make You Go “Hmmmm…”

The Tigers/Orioles game has been moved from 6:40 pm EST to 1:10 pm EST. The teams are trying to beat some bad incoming weather and will play earlier in order to do so.

Shohei Ohtani left his start Tuesday against the Red Sox with a blister issue. Ohtani struggled mightily to even get through the first inning and constantly blew on his pitching hand or touched it to his mouth. He is likely day-to-day with this issue and it will be interesting to see if he can make his next start. Manager Mike Scioscia said after the game that the blister will not affect his ability to be a hitter though.

Patrick Corbin was fantastic again against the Giants, throwing his first ever complete game. He only allowed one hit in the game, which was barely a hit at all:

Corbin has been heavily reliant on his slider which has been fantastic, but was able to at least show the curveball a bit more in this start than the two he bounced feet in front of the plate in his last start. Corbin has been a godsend for fantasy owners, but there is no better time to sell him than now.

Johnny Cueto returned from the DL and pitched fantastically as well, but was overshadowed by Corbin’s amazing outing. Cueto threw seven shutout innings with 11 strikeouts and only two hits allowed versus the Diamondbacks, but was unable to get a decision with Corbin throwing a no-hitter up until the time he was replaced. Cueto appears back to being a top tier pitcher which is great for fantasy owners and the Giants who reportedly will get Jeff Samardzija back this weekend.

Closer controversy! Chris Devenski got the call over Ken Giles in Houston, Bud Norris is racking up saves over Greg Holland in St. Louis, and Josh Hader got a two-inning save for Milwaukee. These are all situations that are worth monitoring or even investing in. In order of preference I would choose Devenski, Hader, and then Norris.

JT Realmuto returned on Tuesday and then proceeded to take Masahiro Tanaka deep. Realmuto started the year on the DL, but has finally recovered and will now be a key fixture in the Marlins lineup until Derek Jeter sells him for nothing.

Chad Bettis threw 7.1 shutout innings against the Pirates on Tuesday. He did well, but was aided by a frigid PNC park. He is a bad fastball guy that relies heavily on an above average changeup due to the lack of good velocity from his fastball. There are a ton of red flags with Bettis. Four of his five pitches are within a couple MPH of each other and the fastball is mediocre at best. There will be regression, especially playing in Colorado.

What We’ll Be Watching Today

– Can Matthew Boyd stay hot? He has been fantastic this year and gets the Orioles at home. The Orioles lead Major League Baseball in strikeout rate. Should be a good streamer for today.

– Can the Cubs hit Luke Weaver ? The Cubs have been hit or miss (pun intended) this season. Can they get to Luke Weaver , who has been fantastic? Watching Weaver, it’s so hard to figure out how he has been doing what he is doing, but it has been working.

– Who is the real Jacob Faria ? Faria started off slow, but bounced back in a big way in his last start. Faria struggled with mechanical issues in his first two starts, so it may be smooth sailing from here, but he gets a Rangers team that went off yesterday.

Is today the day the Brewers offense comes alive? They got Ryan Braun , Eric Thames (who hit a bomb,) and Christian Yelich back yesterday. It is a matter of time before this offense goes off.

– Carlos Carrasco vs José Berrios . *Swoon*

– Can Gerrit Cole continue to be elite? Cole has been one of the best pitchers in baseball so far, but was recently accused of use foreign substances on social media. He will be under a microscope versus the Mariners.

– How many more guys can end up on the DL on my Tout Wars team. As of yesterday, I hit 10.

– Baseball. Lots of baseball.
