When it comes to building your bench, you can either build it by taking the best players available or one-category specialists. You absolutely need to back up your positions. A big key to building the best group of fallback options is knowing how involved a player is in their rotation. This is where preseason can expose a few secrets as certain bench players are playing 25-30 minutes consistently.

The safety net for any player is playing time. Defensive ability helps with that, but unless you watch the games and see for yourself, it will be hard to track. Some of the players who you can find at the end of your drafts may even be starting but are not expected to get a ton of production. Remember, these are your bench players. They should be expendable.
