Welcome back to another slate of KBO baseball on Tuesday morning, 5:30 a.m. eastern standard time. Remember, lineups usually post one hour before lineup lock, so our playbook provides insight on targets with upside, but be sure they’re in the lineup to accrue the most points available.

With reports of runs along with home runs on the rise in the first week of KBO action, rostering pitchers with strikeout upside comes with a price. However, like Dan Straily on Sunday, there’s a decent priced pitcher on Tuesday’s slate who should be in most lineups. Remember Aaron Brooks?

Brooks enters gameplay on Tuesday with a 1.59 ERA, 1.52 FIP and 0.88 WHIP with six strikeouts against no walks over 5.2 innings in his KBO debut last week. He also gets a struggling offense in Hanwha armed with a 16.1 strikeout percentage. Eric Jokisch of the Kiwoom Heroes enters with the best chance to win of a -200 line on Draft Kings in his match-up with Samsung. By the way, Samsung owns a 21.2 strikeout percentage so far this year.

Perusing the over/under totals, only one game reaches the 9.5 mark with Doosan versus the Lotte Giants. Three of the contests come with an 8.5 total while the KT Whiz against the NC Dinos owns the lowest game total of eight runs. Bearing this in mind, here’s Tuesday’s KBO playbook with players in every price range to maximize lineups on DraftKings. If new to the KBO or baseball on DraftKings, try some double-ups to cut your teeth. If playing tournaments, use the GPP guys of note and best of luck.

As for any stacks, Kiwoom or Doosan project to score the most runs but Kia could be a sneaky play facing Min-woo Kim who coughed up two home runs in only 4.1 innings last week. Last, the SK Wyverns seem dormant but could be due to breakout against the LG Twins for those searching for a low owned upside team to stack.

Pitchers
PosPlayerTeamOpp. PitcherDK Sal.
SPEric Jokisch (L)KIWB. Lively$8,700
Jokisch benefits from his team being a -200 favorite on this slate along with possessing strikeout upside. Samsung owns a 21.2 strikeout percentage as a team which goes well with Jokisch's ability to generate strikeouts in the KBO. In his first start this year, Jokisch logged five innings with four strikeouts against one walk giving up one earned run.
SPAaron Brooks (R)KIAM.Kim$7,500
Perhaps my favorite play on this slate, especially given Brooks' price point. He notched six strikeouts versus zero walks over 5.2 innings in his KBO debut last week and gets a sporadic Hanwha offense which averages 3.67 runs so far in 2020. If Brooks can record one more out, he may get the win and the quality start points necessary for success on Draft Kings.
SPDrew Rucinski (R)NCDO.Despaigne$9,200
Rucinski owns strikeout upside and starts in the game with the lowest over/under on Tuesday's slate. But, he faces the ever-unpredictable Odrisamer Despaigne who whiffed eight over six innings during his KBO debut last week. If Rucinski reduces his walks (four in his opening start) and keeps traffic off the bases, he could reward his owners. His price and opponent make a win a bit shakier but the Dinos present a stiffer challenge for Despaigne.
SPNick Kingham (R)SKW. Cha$7,900
A less than stellar debut in the KBO for Kingham still provided seven innings of work. Kingham allowed six hits, three earned runs, and two walks with four strikeouts. This match-up with the LG Twins could yield a win but Kingham looks more like a GPP play than a cash one.
SPRaul Alcantara (R)DOOW. Jang$7,200
Reflected in his price, Alcantara does not own the ability to rack up many strikeouts. But, he's a -200 favorite on a five-game slate and recorded a quality start in a loss last week. Alcantara pitched six innings allowing three earned runs with two walks and three strikeouts. His 4.50 ERA so far accompanies a 6.50 FIP, so invest for a win in cash games but avoid him in most tournaments due to his low ceiling.
PosPlayerTeamOpp. PitcherDK Sal.
SPOdrisamer Despaigne (R)KTWRucinski$8,200
Despaigne's stellar debut of eight strikeouts with zero walks pushed his price point up on this slate. However, Despaigne's like a box of chocolates, one never knows what you will get in any start. Due to this, he should be viewed as a contrarian GPP arm but too risky for cash games in DFS.
SPBen Lively (R)SAME. Jokisch$6,900
Another GPP play only since Lively's team Samsung represents the biggest underdog on Tuesday's slate. Lively recorded six strikeouts over six innings in his KBO debut last week but also gave up four earned runs on six hits and three walks. With a Kiwoom lineup founded upon power, Lively could rack up some strikeouts but he's also likely going to serve up a home run or three. Tread lightly but he's cheap strikeouts on this slate.

Hitters
PosPlayerTeamOpp. PitcherDK Sal.
1B/2BJose Miguel FernandezDOOW. Jang (L)$5,300
Fernandez enters gameplay with a robust .571 average leading the KBO, a 1.455 on-base plus slugging percentage, and racked up multi-hit games in four of his first five contests. Doosan's projected to score the most runs on Tuesday, so why not own their best hitter, especially when he can be used at second base.
SSJae Ho KimDOOW. Jang (L)$2,300
Here's some balance if rostering Fernandez, Kim's a cheap piece of the Doosan offense off to a .421/.476/.474 start averaging 9.5 Draft Kings points the last four games.
OFJae Hwan KimDOOW. Jang (L)$4,800
Perhaps a more likely GPP play, Kim's hitting .300/.364/.650 with a team-leading .350 isolated power. He's launched two home runs in 23 plate appearances this season.
OFJun Woo JeonLOTR. Alcantara (R)$3,800
If going against the grain, the Giants remain the only undefeated team left in the KBO and could put up runs against Doosan in the highest over/under on the slate. Jeon's slashing .318/.348/.682 with two doubles, two home runs, and four RBI.
2B/SSDixon MachadoLOTR. Alcantara (R)$4,700
Well, it's apparent Draft Kings does not buy the hot start by Machado in the KBO. Machado ranks seventh in OPS (1.317), second in isolated power (.500), and tied for first in home runs (3). He's eligible at multiple positions and would be even more appealing if Lotte would bat him higher than seventh. Despite this, Machado's already driven in eight runs and even stolen a base.
OFAh Seop SonLOTR. Alcantara (R)$3,000
A cheap dart in the outfield, Son's hitting .316/.381/.526 with a home run and six RBI over his first 23 plate appearances.
CJi Young LeeKIWB. Lively (R)$3,600
With catchers being tough to find in the KBO, Lee could be a worthy play, especially if Eui Ji Yang of the Dinos remains sidelined with an injury. Plus, Lee's cheaper. However, there's a bit of all or nothing in Lee's game so best reserved for GPP play. Lee produced a double and a triple his last start on Sunday improving his slash line to .364/.417/.636 on the season.
1BByung Ho ParkKIWB. Lively (R)$5,200
A recognizable player in the KBO, Park led the league in home runs last year with 33 and he's hit two already this year. Park can be boom or bust but he's intriguing as a power option at first base.
OFJung Hoo LeeKIWB. Lively (R)$4,600
An on-base machine, Lee's slashing .421/.542/.895 with a double, triple, two home runs, six RBI and more walks (4) than strikeouts (2) through 25 plate appearances. Pretty, pretty, pretty good.
PosPlayerTeamOpp. PitcherDK Sal.
1B/OFWon Joon ChoiKIAM. Kim (R)$2,700
Another low priced dart throw for cash play, Choi's slashing .318/.400/.364 so he projects better at getting on base rather than producing power to this point. But there's something to be said for that.
OFPreston TuckerKIAM. Kim (R)$5,500
Well, Tucker only appeared on a skit on Saturday Night Live then went 5-for-5 with two home runs the next morning. So, saying he's hot would be an understatement given his ridiculous .476/.560/.905 slash line. Tucker ranks first in KBO OPS (1.465), fourth in isolated power (.429), and tied for first in home runs (3) on the season. For a sweetener, his 11 RBI also leads the league.
OFHyung Woo ChoiKIAM. Kim (R)$6,000
Guessing Draft Kings anticipates a huge night from Choi seeing his price tag. Choi's hitting .308/.333/.500 this year with two doubles, a home run, and four RBI. Not sure I'd pay full retail but the choice is yours.
CEui Ji Yang (inj)NCDO. Despaigne (R)$4,700
Yang left Sunday's game with a limp, so his availability remains in question for Tuesday. Meaning he's a risky venture as the highest priced catcher on the slate. Yang's a terrific hitter with a .333/.391/.524 line so far but there's value to be mined at the position with more appeal since Yang may miss this game. Check for his name when lineups lock an hour before games.
2B/3BJin Hyuk NoNCDO. Despaigne (R)$3,000
If one's betting on a bounce-back by the Dinos, No's likely in play for DFS. No owns a .333/.429/.667 line with two home runs and six RBI this season. He's flying well below the radar and fits at two positions adding to his allure.
OFAaron AltherrNCDO. Despaigne (R)$5,800
A hefty price tag for a hitter with a .250 average. Still, Altherr suffered a minor tweak diving for a ball last week, and with the league off on Monday could be back healthy in this contest for the Dinos. He will be low owned due to the price tag for the contrarian crowd.
OFSung Bum NaNCDO. Despaigne (R)$3,600
Sometimes it's the overlooked player in a stack who accumulates the points. Na's also underperformed so far with a .278/.435/.444 line but he's walked (4) more than he's struck out (3) with a home run and three RBI so far in 2020. Perhaps a tournament darling in this slate.
2BKyung Soo ParkKTWD. Rucinski (R)$4,000
Heading into the season, the KBO preview talked about the middle infield lacking pop but Park's slashing .353/.450/.529 with a home run and five RBI through his first 21 plate appearances.
OFMel Rojas Jr.KTWD. Rucinski (R)$5,600
It's tough to ignore Rojas Jr. on any slate but Rucinski could be a tough match-up. Bullpens in the KBO often provide the therapy for this so Rojas and his robust .455/.500/.773 slash line with four doubles and one home run may be a low owned upside play on Tuesday.
1B/OFBaek Ho KangKTWD. Rucinski (R)$5,700
An all or nothing play, Kang's only 20 years old with swagger and swings for the fences. Four of his six hits resulted in extra-bases (two doubles, two home runs).
1BRoberto RamosLGN. Kingham (R)$2,700
DraftKings algorithm missed on Ramos. He launched two home runs on Sunday, boasts a .450/.500/.850 slash and he's cheap as hell. My favorite 1B play due to production versus the price tag on the slate.
CKang Nam YooLGN. Kingham (R)$3,000
Another cheap player worthy of use Tuesday. Yoo's hitting .267/.312/.600 but with two doubles and a home run among his four hits with six RBI. Boom or bust meet thy catcher.
1BJamie RomakSKW. Cha (L)$5,900
Again, due to the price Romak makes for a GPP play with low ownership. He blasted 29 home runs last year and opens this game with only one in 2020 with a "juiced" ball. Things could change soon. If only his price would go down a bit.
OFDong Min HanSKW. Cha (L)$4,000
For some reason, Han's tied for the league lead in home runs with three yet remains cheap with a .389/.421/.944 slash and six RBI.
3B/SSJeong ChoiSKW. Cha (L)$5,100
So, it's been a less than audacious start to Choi's 2020 season. But, he's too talented to remain hitting below the Mendoza line. What does this mean? Choi's due for a huge game soon and could start as soon as Tuesday with a home run in this contest. Calling it, you heard me.
