Domination from Dustin Johnson in the Great White North at the RBC Canadian which meant the Playbook should have led you to a profitable week.  While that was a very chill week up in Canada, buckle your seat belts because we’ve got a big one this week in Akron, Ohio.

The World Golf Championship (WGC) at the Firestone Golf and Country Club is locked and loaded with the best players in the world.  It’s the Bridgestone Invitational which means it is a small field event with no cut.  That also means that there will be a ton of duplicate teams and trying to differentiate yourself will be extremely hard.  You will have to take risks and hope they pay off.

The course is a Par 70 and measures out to 7400 yards.  We’ve got another track that rewards the players that can keep the ball on the fairways and get it in nice and tight with the pins.  This is a course which you would think that longer hitters would have the advantage but that’s just not true.  When you look over the players who have had success, it is a mix bag of long and short/straight hitters.  Total driving is vital because if a bomber can keep the ball on the fairway, he’ll have an advantage over the field.

These greens are not big which means we should be looking at players with good greens in regulation numbers.  Along those same lines, we want these guys to not only get the ball on the green but get it in close to the pin.  That means proximity once again will be an important stat this weekend. Also, when players miss these small greens, the ability to scramble is a huge advantage.

The first thing you’ll notice in this week’s playbook is that Rory McIlory, Tiger Woods, Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler are not listed.  This is not because I think they are bad players or terrible plays this weekend.  They are some of the best players in the world and I will not fault you for playing them this weekend.  I chose to leave them out of the playbook because this is one of those weeks where you have to stand your ground. There are so many top players, you kinda have to pick your horses and back them and I decided to go with Dustin Johnson, Justin Rose, Jon Rahm, and Jason Day.

Also, I can’t not mention the elephant in the room, Tiger Woods made the field by one, one-hundredth of a point in the world golf rankings.  He played great in his last two events including the Open Championship. Woods has won this event eight times and needless to say he loves the track.  I heard him speak at his Quicken Loans press conference about how his goal was to get into this field and he made it happen.

Also, being that this is a small field WGC event, I am only releasing GPP Optimal Lineups this weekend.  I have given you two DraftKings and two Fanduel.  I always recommend that in tournaments like these, you should avoid cash games and keep it to GPPs.

Good Luck
