Rickie Fowler was just one of many players that were crushed by PGA National last weekend. It was painful to watch at times but I did enjoy watching Tiger Woods. Man, I got a fuzzy feeling on Sunday seeing him in that red polo shirt. While I knew that he wouldn't win the tournament, it was so much fun to watch and hope to see something special once again. The dude lead the field in proximity to the hole and broke a record for swing speed at 128 mph. I am officially back in on the guy and I fully believe that he can win again on tour. Ok, enough Tiger talk, it's time to take a look at the WGC.

I’ll start with a reminder of how to handle playing in a WGC Draft Kings event for the new players out there.  This is a smaller field event with just 65 golfers which means I avoid cash games.  There is a limited number of players in the pool which means more duplicate lineups and that means trouble when it comes to cash games.  If even one or two of your player’s falter, you will have a real tough time making the money.  I will be providing just two GPP lineups instead of my normal one of each.  Another reason I’ll be avoiding cash games is because this is still a relatively new course to these players and not much for course history to help us determine the best players for a cash lineup.  This is a no cut event which means you can take more risks with your golfers because no matter what, they’ll play all four days this weekend.

The World Golf Championship moved from Doral last season to the Mexico Championship at Club de Golf Chapultepec.  The first thing you'll hear about this track is the altitude.  It sits at 7,382 feet above sea level.  The PGA Tour plays the BMW Championship in Denver and that is at 5,280 feet above sea level while the European Tour plays their Nordea Masters in the Swiss Alps and is at 4,922 feet above sea level. Even though players got a chance to play this course last season, it is still a relatively new experience for these players.  Club de Golf Chapultepec measures out 7,300 yards but will play much shorter because of the altitude.  You might be worried that some of the bombers may not be able to control themselves in such conditions.  I have really focused my attention to the best ball strikers in the world with fantastic tee-to-green numbers.  Overall, the players should beat this course up but I’m going to ride players with more accuracy than distance.

Another reminder, this is a WGC event which means the best of the best are in this field. That means you have to draw a line in the sand and pick your favorite horses in this stacked field. This playbook features the players that I'll have in my lineups but if you like another one of the studs in this field, feel free to use them. Justin Thomas will be crazy owned coming off his victory at the Honda and knowing that he finished T5 here last year. Do you want that type of ownership in your GPP lineups? That's a decision you'll have to make. These weeks always cause me to overthink and not just go with my gut. I hope you don't make the same mistake and just go with it ...
