It's the World Golf Championship and all the big stars come out to play including Rory McIlory for the first time since the Ryder Cup.  We've got a lot of the best players in the world heading to China for the HSBC Champions.

Tiger Woods once called the layout of the Sheshan International Golf Club (West), "the crowning jewel of all of Asian Golf." The course stretches out 7,266 yards and it is set amid 1,000-year-old gingko trees, manmade waterways and a natural quarry.  The HSBC Champions is in its 12th year and eighth time as a World Golf Championship (WGC) event.  Sheshan opened in 2004 as the Shanghai region's first golf club and remains one of its most exclusive.

There is a lot to know about this course starting with every Par 3 is over 200 yards in length.  Two of the Par 5's are reachable in two by most all of the players in the field but very few can do it on all four of them.  These players will be forced to hit a bunch of 175 and 200 plus yard shots with accuracy which brings in ball striking and strokes gained: tee to green (SG:TG).

This is a WGC style format which means that there are 78 of the world's top ranked players from the six major tours and China Golf Association, the leading money winners from respective sanctioning tours and winners from Majors and other 3 WGC tournaments.  This is also a NO CUT event, which means that you can take more risks with your plays because no matter what, they are going to play all 72-holes, unless they withdraw.

Another reminder, this tournament is taking place in Shanghai, China which is 12 hours ahead of us.  The first tee time is at 8:50am their time, which means that lineups lock at 8:50pm EASTERN.  So get those lineups in early.

Good Luck!
